Rushing to defend the show, she told the daytime TV show host: "If you think of the chance of a little sprain in a week’s holiday – they are out there for eight weeks.

"But they’re very brave."

The Channel 4 programme has become known as the hardest celebrity reality show on the TV, after a number of famous faces were forced to withdraw.

And it comes after Davina teased an all-star line-up for the next series of the show.

She told  at the time: “We’ve got an amazing lineup – an unbelievable lineup.

“And no, I can’t tell you, but we have quite a few people set. They’re crazy amazing people – I’m so excited.”

However, fans of the show will never see the mother-of-three having a go at the daring winter sports herself.

She admitted: "No way! They won't let me ski - they won't let me do anything.

"The only activity I'm allowed to do when I'm filming is snowshoeing, where you put tennis rackets on your feet and just walk."
