THIS Morning made one father's Christmas come early on Tuesday's show - after a person considered missing for the past five years called into the show to send a message home.
Laura Miller, who was based in the West Country, left home five years ago and was never heard from again.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby struggled to contain themselves as they reached out to the girl and offered her the opportunity to go home - after Laura feared it had "been too long" to return.
She told the hosts: "There was a lot going on at the time and I just had to leave for my own sanity really, and now i feel it is time to reconcile with my family."
Laura admitted that she had been checking up on her family members via Facebook and other means that she didn't previously have before her disappearance.
She also announced that she was now the mother to two twin girls - and wanted her father to meet his grandchildren.
Sympathising with her father's position as a dad himself, Phillip told her: "My heart would be in a thousand pieces."
He then added: "It will be a hundred Christmases all in one moment!"
Holly then offered her the chance to reach out to her father who may have been watching at home.
When she struggled, Phillip asked her if there was anything that only he would know - and she revealed that at the time she left the family had a puppy called Milo who she believed was still alive.
Laura later admitted: "There's been so many times where i just wanted to drive back home and go and see everybody- but I just didn't know how to face them after going for so long."
Holly added: "I cant imagine any greater Christmas present for your father than this moment right now."
The 'missing' woman then said to anyone thinking of doing the same: "Just do it. Do it. Get it over and done with. I don't think anyone's going to hate you, but the longer you leave it the harder it will probably be."
Praised for her bravery by Jo Youle, CEO of Missing People, she was promised that the charity would help her reconnect with her family.
Catch This Morning, weekdays on ITV1.
