Kate Ferdinand reveals sex of second baby with Rio – but admits gender reveal party was ‘a disaster’
KATE Ferdinand has revealed the sex of her second baby with husband Rio Ferdinand.
The former Towie star, 31, is expecting a little girl – and made the exciting announcement on her podcast, Blended.
With former footballer Rio, 44, joining her on the special episode, she told how they had both guessed the sex correctly.
Kate and Rio told how step-daughter Tia had been “praying” for a younger sister to take care of – with her wish coming true.
Ex Manchester United ace Rio said: “I wanted a girl, I knew it was a girl, but I actually wanted a girl.
“I wanted boys at the beginning.”
He added: “That’s me I’m done now, a five a side team.”
Kate married Rio in 2019 and the pair already share young son Cree, two.
The TV star is also step-mum to Rio’s three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11
Kate revealed she was expecting her second child in January.
She used a series of savvy tricks to hide her baby bump.
Yet in the same podcast, the pair had a laugh about their chaotic gender reveal.
Rio said: “It was a typical Ferdinand gender reveal in that it went wrong!”
He continued: “We all sat down, cameras ready to film it for memories, and then we all take a bite of the first six cupcakes and no one of them has the colour.
“So it’s pink or blue, for girl or boy, and we’re all shouting and because everyone is shouting so loud, Cree in the middle just starts hysterically crying.
“Tate and Tia think Lorenz is the favourite so I proved to them it was not a fix – they all picked their own cake.
“Cree went to bite the cupcakes before we were all ready because he was so excited.
“Tate started yelling ‘no, no no’ at him and frightened the life out of him so he started crying and Lorenz ends up getting the pink cupcakes.”
He then summarised the day as “bedlam.”
Earlier in the podcast, the pair were left laughing as Rio talked about Kate’s “godzilla pregnancy” moods first time around.
Kate said: “I think I haven’t been that bad this time.
“This time I have been quite chilled.”
