But Sam was later criticised by fans for appearing to complain about the luxury flight.

Now Sam – who was was joined by partner Paul Knightley, 34, and their three kids Paul Jr, seven, Rosie, five, and nine-month-old Edward – has had her say.

Explaining the family were gifted the flights, Sam said: “You just can’t win, I had to post the flight because it was part of the job that we was there to do with the Tourism Board.

“And then I didn’t want to speak about it being business because I did think, I’m just not like that to boast about business class seats.”

Sam insisted that, rather than talk about being on a business class flight, she wanted to focus on the challenges of travelling with young children.

Speaking on her podcast with sister Billie – The Sam and Billie Show – she added: “I really can’t be bothered to explain myself but it was like you know some people commenting saying things like, ‘Oh look at you showing off in your business class flight.’

“Which I wasn’t by the way, and I was talking about Edward’s teeth.”

Chiming in, Billie said: “It is frustrating because it’s like, I feel like I’ve worked really hard, same as you, to get what we’ve got and to do what we do, we’ve worked hard for it.

“We’ve not sat around twiddling our thumbs.”

Sam insisted: “It’s 24/7 work.”

Her original caption about struggling with the flight thanks to Edward teething didn’t sit well with some fans, with one commenting: “I love all your stories and family but I have to say this post is wrong.

“You are very privileged to travel business/first class and I acknowledge you work hard, but to post this, saying how hard it is travelling with 3 children is not representative of all your lovely followers.”

Another chimed in: “Must be really hard in first class…. Maybe try doing it in economy where most of your followers would be then you’ll know tough!”

“Read the room,” a third added.
