Honey G takes aim at ‘jealous’ Professor Green, ‘spiteful’ Lily Allen and ‘ridiculous’ Little Mix star Jesy Nelson
The North Weezy rapper spoke exclusively to The Sun's Dan Wootton to address the torrent of haters
HONEY G has blasted her celebrity haters, branding them “jealous”.
The X Factor star has been the subject of negative comments from stars including Lily Allen, Professor Green, Jesy Nelson and Sinitta during her time on the ITV show.
But speaking on a Facebook live with Dan Wootton, she put them in their place with some strong words of her own.
The rapper said: “ These people saying this sort of stuff they don’t know who they’re messing with.”
Honey G, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, was recently labelled an “actress” by Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, who claims her presence on the X Factor is an act.
But the star hit back, saying Jesy’s comments were “ridiculous”.
She said: “I mean literally that’s one of the most ridiculous things that I’ve ever heard.
"It’s annoying and obviously it’s quite insulting to be called an actress.
"I’ve been a musician the whole of my life.
“I’ve got a musical background I’ve got a degree from one of the best universities for music production.
“I’ve been rapping and producing for about 15 years. I’m also involved closely with BBC Radio 1Xtra which is the UK’s biggest black music radio station.
“So yeah, she needs her head checked because she doesn’t really know what she’s chatting about.”
The Marmite act, who has put a Honey G twist on everything from Men In Black to Ice Ice Baby, had similarly harsh words for chart star Professor Green, 32, who claimed on Xtra Factor that she’s taking the mickey out of rap music.
Now ahead of former favourite Matt Terry, 23, at the bookies, Honey G raged: “I don’t feel like he’s in any position to be making comments like that and running his mouth up like that.
“The sixth live show of X Factor this is where I am. You’ve just seen the bookies’ odds - I’m the favourite. I don’t think he’s in the position to be running his mouth up about me taking the mickey out of rap.
“I’ve had the public behind me, I’ve had 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg behind me.
"Snoop is saying he wants to record. Back down or get smacked down.”
Even Simon Cowell’s former girlfriend and long-time friend Sinitta hit out at the star.
While Honey G said she’d like to change the So Macho singer’s mind, she added that Sinitta shouldn’t keep sharing her negative opinions online. Honey G said: “I don’t want people to be exposed to someone slagging me off online.”
And as far as Honey G’s concerned, the haters – who also include Boy George – have no leg to stand on because Simon Cowell is a fan.
Brushing off Boy George’s comments that she’d be better as a variety act on Britain’s Got Talent, Honey G said: “Simon Cowell said last week about me having the X Factor and that’s why the show is called The X Factor.
"So if Simon Cowell – he invented X Factor, he’s the whole thing behind it – he’s spoken out openly about me having The X Factor.
“He’s never at any point said this is a singing competition get out.
"Again, people coming around saying it’s a singing competition I just feel they’ve got a bit of a bee in their bonnet.
“Me coming along, has that upset the apple cart a little bit? Spoilt their plans? Do you know what I mean? I do feel like they’re attacking me on a personal level as well.
"They’ve got a bit of a problem with the fact that I’m a rapper and I’ve come into the competition.”
Well, that told them, didn’t it?
