Gigi Hadid reveals that she wasn’t a fan of One Direction – but ‘loves’ boyfriend Zayn Malik’s solo music
The 21-year-old made the admission during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel
GIGI Hadid has opened up about her relationship with Zayn Malik - and has admitted that she didn't like One Direction.
The 21-year-old supermodel made the revelation during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the US on Wednesday night.
As the late night talk show host probed her about her relationship, she said:"I grew up in a household that, my stepdad was a kind of classical music producer, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, so that was the music that I was into.
"I mean, I think we all can name a One Direction song that we like, but, um, maybe not. But I love Zayn Malik solo a lot more."
While her other half's boy band background might not be her taste, she later featured with him in his video for first solo single Pillowtalk.
Zayn and Gigi got together this year after he called off his relationship with star
Their less-than-ceremonious split became the inspiration behind the girl band's latest hit 'Shout Out To My Ex' - a scathing attack on the men who scorned the former X Factor ladies.
Meanwhile Zayn, 23, also admitted that he isn't the biggest fan of his history in the group either - and wishes he had more time to be "anonymous".
LATEST FROM TV & SHOWBIZ
The former One Direction star, who left the band in March 2015, revealed that given the opportunity to go back in time to 2010, he would tell his 17-year-old self not to sign up to the show that would make him famous.
Zayn explained: “‘I was very ignorant at 17 — blind beyond my years. I thought going on X Factor meant you won a million pounds and got a contract at the end of it.
When asked what he would tell your old self, he continued: “Don’t do it…I would say, ‘Do your research and be a bit more prepared about certain situations before you make a decision.’ ”
Zayn stressed that he was grateful for all that The X Factor gave him but if he could travel back in time then he might have made a different decision.
He explained: “But I probably wouldn’t have [signed] — I would’ve waited a couple more extra years. Just so I had that time to just get my head around being a famous person.
"I’ve never been able to have, what’s the word? Anonymity. If I could go back, I’d have a few more years of anonymity.”
