Miley Cyrus slams ex Liam Hemsworth on new album Endless Summer Vacation and drops hints over future
SHE was the ultimate Disney wild child, going from sweet, southern teen star on Hannah Montana to a walking, talking controversy.
But Miley Cyrus has proved she is a reformed character on her new album, Endless Summer Vacation - so much so that she is ready to settle down.
She has dropped the record today and on it, she sings about starting a family with a lover, believed to be her boyfriend of over a year, musician Maxx Morando.
On her new single River, Miley refers to him as “The One” before adding he could “have my babies”.
She sings: “Blowing bubbles in the bath, I can’t stop. I’m thinking lately you could be the one, have the honour, have my babies. Hope they have your eyes and that crooked smilе.”
But in classic Miley style, she makes a few sexual innuendos in the tune to prove she’s never going to be a prude.
Speaking about the song, she said: “It was a time in my life where I was going through just a lot emotionally and personally. All of my songs evolve.”
Miley and Max got together towards the end of 2021, with their romance first being revealed in The Sun.
Lending itself to the album title, one song called Rose Coloured Lenses is a love letter to Maxx in which Miley compares spending the day in bed with her new man to an “endless summer vacation.”
It shows she has finally found true happiness, and follows on from the theme of the album's hit single Flowers, which has spent seven weeks at No1 and is all about not needing a man.

She wrote that following her divorce from her husband, Hollywood actor Liam Hemsworth, and he is not spared her acid tongue on the album.
On Muddy Feet, which is a collaboration with SIA, Miley fumes: “I don’t know who the hell you think you’re messing with. Get the f**k out of my house with that s**t, get the f**k out of my life with that s**t”.
She adds: “You smell like perfume that I didn’t purchase. Now I know why you’ve been closing the curtains.
“You got it wrong with your muddy feet and I’m about to do something about it.”
Meanwhile on Jaded, Miley takes a more mellow tone about the doomed romance, before accusing Liam of drinking instead of talking things through.
Miley sings: “Now I’ve had time to think it over, we are much older and the bones too big to bury.
“Isn’t it a shame that it ended like that?...We went to hell but we never came back.
“I’m sorry that you’re jaded, I could have taken you places, you’re lonely now and I hate it.”
Hinting Liam failed to take responsibility for his part in the breakdown of their marriage, Miley continues: “You’re not even willing to look at your part, you just jump in the car and head down to the bar until you’re blurry.
“You don’t know when to stop so you take it too far.
"I know where you are and I’m left in the dark till I’m worried. And it hurts me.”
She then adds: “I won’t lie, it won’t be easy when somebody new is on your body. I will change my number but I will keep your t-shirt.”
Tonight at 6pm [FRI] fans will be able to watch Miley opening up about the record in a Disney+ special called Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions).
She will perform seven songs from the record as well as her 2009 single The Climb.
Talking about the album, Miley said: “When it comes to the sequencing of Endless Summer Vacation, I divided it by two parts, AM and PM, to kind of represent almost an act.
“The AM to me is representing the morning time, where there’s a buzz and an energy and there’s a potential of new possibilities. It’s a new day.
“As for the PM part, at night time, it feels like there’s a slinky, seediness and kind of a grime but a glamour at the same time
"In the evening, it’s a great time for rest, it’s a time to recover. Or it’s a time to go out and experience the wild side.”
Miley has had the biggest single of her career with Flowers and this feels like a really exciting time for her.
Not many artists can boast that they are at their most successful point, 14 years into their career.
