Dog charities issue bizarre warning over John Lewis Christmas advert by warning dog owners not to recreate stunt
CHARITIES have issued an elf ’n safety-style warning to dog owners not to recreate the John Lewis ad.
The upmarket store chain’s Christmas TV commercial sees boxer Buster bounce on a trampoline.
But animal welfare groups yesterday advised owners not to encourage their pets to do the same because they could be injured.
A Dogs Trust spokesman said: “Dogs thoroughly enjoy playing with their families. But we advise owners to exercise caution and not allow their dog on to a trampoline.”

Fellow animal welfare group Peta said: “While trampolines can be great fun, they can also be dangerous. Responsible parents would supervise their children if they were on one. So responsible guardians should also supervise their dogs if they’re enjoying a bounce.”
John Lewis, whose ads have become the most anticipated in the festive season, released their latest this week. It shows Buster and foxes enjoying the garden trampoline given to a young girl. It got seven million views on YouTube in 24 hours.
