Strictly Come Dancing’s Danny Mac reveals dance partner thinks he’s ‘boring’ if he doesn’t drink booze after training
The star has been encouraged to have a little tipple after training to "wind down"
DANNY Mac's Strictly partner thinks he's "boring" if he doesn't have a drink after training.
The 28-year-old topped the Strictly Come Dancing leader board on Saturday night with a stunning Argentine Tango, but while his passionate performance impressed the judges, Danny has admitted his professional partner Oti has called him "boring" in the training room.
"She’s not telling me to get drunk, though.”
Danny certainly doesn't want to lose focus as the competition continues to progress, especially as he is proving such a hit with viewers and the judges.
He scored an impressive 38 points for his sizzling Argentine Tango - including two 10s from Len Goodman and Bruno Toniolo - but he doesn't see himself as a frontrunner to win the glitterball.
He said: “Don’t bet on me. I don’t think I’m the favourite. Everyone else has upped their game and it’s a very level contest.
“Any claim of being favourite has actually made things even harder.
"It keeps the pressure on but no one puts more on me than Oti anyway. She’s unbelievable.”
As for who he is rooting for, the former Hollyoaks star admitted he is obsessed with Ed Balls.
The former Labour shadow chancellor performed a hilarious salsa routine to Gangnam Style on Saturday but only managed to secure 25 points, leaving him at the bottom of the score board.
But Danny said: "He’s just a great dancer. He’s so much fun.
“I love watching him. He’s one of my favourite guys on the show.
"He’s probably the person whose dance I will watch the most. I see all his rehearsals.
“It’s so entertaining. You aren’t laughing at him, you enjoy it with him.”
Danny has certainly needed to be kept entertained by Ed this week, as he hinted on Saturday night's show that he had had a tough week in his personal life, before dedicating his routine to his dad.
