SAM Thompson is in hospital in 'excruciating pain' after suffering from a mystery illness.
Sam, 30, is having tests on his stomach and has undergone a colonoscopy to get to the bottom of his debilitating symptoms.
The Love Island Aftersun panellist updated fans with a picture of him lying on a hospital bed.
He told his followers that he was having an exploratory procedure.
"Just swallowed a pill with a camera in it!" Sam wrote. "Was super cool and was lighting up hahah (sic)"
He then explained why he had what looked like a massive belt around his middle.

"The contraption round my waist tracks it as it goes through my stomach. Hopefully I'll figure out what's going on with my tummy."
Sparing no details, Sam told his followers why he was lying on his side.
The Made In Chelsea star explained: "So I've got to lie on my side so, apparently the stomach empties and the chemical can go all the way through me. And then, what happens," he asked, flipping the camera around to his girlfriend Zara McDermott.
"I poo it out," Sam says as Zara emphasises: "You poo it out. You've got to make sure that machinery is on you for the next 10 hours."

Last night, Zara posted an instagram story of her preparing a special drink for him to prepare him for his colonoscopy.
The prescription liquid allows you to evacuate your bowels before having an internal camera so doctors can get a clear view of your insides.
She also explained that Sam was "hangry" as he wouldn't have been able to eat before the test.
Sam explained that despite having to keep the machine on for ten hours, he was due to record his podcast with pal Pete Wicks that same day.
"Don't mug me off when you see me please," he messaged to Pete, before adding that he had not enjoyed being on toilet for most of the previous evening.
Sam said: "The prep for this last night was not nice!!," followed by a laughing face emoji.
Sam was in hospital last year after suffering from a stomach hernia.
Zara said at the time, after he was recovering at home: "Just put Sam back to bed...bless his heart he's so unwell again.

"A few weeks ago he was really poorly with intensely painful stomach cramps. He had a endoscopy & stool sample that both biopsies detected inflammation; but the dr hasn't been overly clear as to what that means/why it's there."
She continued: "He said to come back in a few weeks but in the meantime Sam has gone downhill again. He can barely keep his eyes open, concentrate on anything and he's losing weight! And also his appetite is not there!"
