HE LOVES HER A LOTT
Pixie Lott breaks down in tears as boyfriend Oliver Cheshire pops the question
The pop star got emotional as her model man got down on one knee on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral
PIXIE Lott has got engaged to model boyfriend Oliver Cheshire after six years together in a movie-style proposal on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral.
The chiselled model whisked his new fiancée out of a taxi before he dropped down on one knee and popped the question outside the historic building at 12.45pm on Remembrance Sunday.
The pop star, 25, was so overwhelmed she broke down in tears before the loved-up couple slipped behind a pillar to share a private moment.
An onlooker said: “It was so romantic – Pixie didn’t seem to have any idea he was going to ask her to marry him and started sobbing with tears of happiness.
“When she couldn’t stop crying Ollie asked a passer-by for a tissue as he said he didn’t want to give her his snotty hankie.
“They then hid behind a pillar for some privacy, but they didn’t seem to have a care in the world about who saw their special moment – it was like something from a movie.”
Pixie met the D&G and Calvin Klein model at a fashion show six years ago, aged 19, and their friendship quickly blossomed into romance.
Despite moving in together, the former Strictly star admitted this year how their gruelling schedules meant spending long spells apart.
She told The Sun in February: “Either I’m away or he’s away, and those times are hard. But we’re used to it because it’s been like that since the beginning.
“We have complete trust, and I think if we didn’t have that, it would be much more difficult than it is. I’d like to think we were heading that way [towards marriage], definitely.”
Pixie, who is working on her fourth album, previously admitted she hadn’t wanted to rush into marriage “because a lot of celebrity marriages are over so quickly - and I don’t want mine to be one of them.”
In October she hinted at wanting to start a family.
While supporting energy giant Shell’s global initiative #makethefuture, she said: “I want children, and I want them to inherit a world that works together to look after the environment.”
