The reality jungle life hits Scarlett Moffatt as the campmates endure their first night on I’m a Celebrity
The stars settle into camp and prepare for a gruelling three weeks
REALITY has hit the campmates as they endure their first night in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity.
The City celebs were first to arrive in camp, followed by the Jungle team, but it was when their food arrived that it really hit home what they had in store.
This year’s campers are dancer Jordan Banjo, ex footballer Wayne Bridge, comedian Joel Dommett, dancer Ola Jordan, actor Larry Lamb, TV star Scarlett Moffatt, Olympic Hockey player Sam Quek, TV presenter and ex model Lisa Snowdon, actor Adam Thomas and TV presenter Carol Vorderman.
Larry quickly lit a fire as the meagre rations of rice and beans were delivered into camp.
Scarlett escaped to the Bush Telegraph and moaned about the potions saying: “It’s a detox. It will help our skin and hair.
“I’ve got to look at the positive otherwise I’ll start crying.”
The celebrities had varying degrees of success in getting a full night’s sleep.
Scarlett said that she couldn’t sleep because she was so excited.
However, some of the other campmates weren’t able to get their full eight hours because of Adam and Larry’s snoring.
Oblivious to the commotion that he’d caused overnight Adam said “I woke up in the middle of the night and was thinking thank God, no one’s snoring.”
Carol and Scarlett talked about the sounds of the Jungle. Scarlett said that when she watched the programme at home, she thought that producers added the Jungle sounds on the show. She admitted her mistake. “It’s genuine. You’re waking up to the sound of all sorts. It was nice” she added.
But Jungle life was more of a shock to the system for some of the other camp mates. Jordan confessed that he couldn’t do anything like cook so offered to undertake dunny duty.
There was method in his madness though as he said that he’d rather do it on day one than further down the line.
“I might do it on day four when its constipation day” said Scarlett to the amusement of her campmates.
Jordan explained “At home I’ve always been wrapped in cotton wool. My mum has always done everything for me. That’s why I made a real effort in learning some new skills because I didn’t want to be useless around camp.”
And later when he washed a couple of pots and spoons, he confessed that it was one of the first times that he’d ever washed anything up.
