X Factor rapper Honey G HASN’T been made to change her name – despite sharing it with Korean boyband
Throughout the history of the show, acts have had to change their name if someone else uses it... until now
MORE evidence of X Factor rapper Honey G being given special treatment by show bosses has emerged - and it involves a Korean boyband.
Throughout the history of the show, acts have been forced to change their name for copyright reasons if a group or artist with the same name exists elsewhere.
But it appears that doesn't apply to the IT recruitment consultant turned rapper.
In the Korean capital of Seoul, a whole 5,500 miles away from the X Factor's weekly residency in Wembley, three-piece boyband Honey G have been performing under that name for FOUR years.
Ironically, the group were formed on a reality show not totally dissimilar to The X Factor called Superstar K4, where they were selected to go through by Korean one hit wonder Psy.
After forming on TV in 2012 they released their debut LP, the snappily named 1st Album, the following year.
But their existence hasn't affected Honey G - real name Anna Guilford - who has been allowed to continue to use the moniker.
It's a surprising move from producers, who earlier this series forced Brooks Way to change their name from The Brooks due to copyright infringement.
In 2011 Little Mix were forced to rebrand from Rythmix due to a Brighton charity having the same name.
Stereokicks were also forced to rebrand.
And last year 4th Impact had to change their name from 4th Power.
A show insider told The Sun online: "Honey G's a rapper and these guys make K-Pop - there's no way they could be confused."
However, the bending of the rules is sure to further enrage fans who think that this year's competition is being fixed for the ageing hip-hopper to WIN.
Bosses appear to have turned a blind eye to a series of blunders, including revealing she has plans for future sing-offs, practising her reaction at being told she's safe for another week, and offending the nation with her "racist" performances.
Not only can she not sing, but Honey was also booted off at the Six Chair Challenge stage only to be brought back as a wildcard.

She also declared that marijuana should be legalised - and claimed she doesn't have it in her home as she easily gets addicted to smoking it.
Earlier that day she also broke the nation's two minute silence to beg for votes.
The arrogant joke act also revealed she had been practising being told she was safe for another week, and also revealed she had a song lined up for next Saturday despite the theme being decided only moments before.
Reps for X Factor have been approached for comment.
