JUNGLE life is already taking its toll on Carol Vorderman — who has befriended a toad.

The ex Countdown star, 55, chatted to the creature while struggling to sleep.

The conversation came after just three days in the jungle and as fans expressed shock at Carol’s “melting” face.

Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, 23, caught Carol chatting after getting up in the night to go to the jungle toilet.

Carol was sitting alone by the campfire when the large toad appeared, prompting her reaction: “Ooooh you little monkey.”

She then moved closer and began asking questions.

Carol said: “Don’t you look at me like that, we can have a chat.

“It’s just the two of us, halt! Who goes there, friend or foe?”

She even jokingly told it they looked alike, adding: “I’ve got frog eyes too, you’re a big boy aren’t you?”

Fans on social media were more shocked by Carol’s facial appearance, with one asking if she had any ops: “Whatever she’s done to her face has ruined her.”

Another tweeted: “What’s happened to Carol Vorderman’s face — thought Pete Burns died.”

MYA Cosmetic Surgery chairman John Ryan said: “Comparing what she looks like now to previously there’s a clear difference in her appearance rarely achievable without surgery.

“Her nose looks slimmer at the tip and more defined at the nostrils and her cheeks are incredibly full. She has likely had Botox to her forehead and her lifted brows.”

Before the celebs arrived in camp, eight funnel web spiders, the world’s most dangerous, were found yards from their beds and removed.

Bosses also found a brown snake — one of the world’s most poisonous — near the camp.

The show’s medic Dr Bob McCarron, 66, said: “We take the safety of the celebrities as paramount.”

Four celebs did have to come face to face with the jungle’s creatures — 120,000 of them.

GB hockey star Sam Quek, 28, Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt, 26, Jordan and Strictly’s Ola Jordan, 34, all had to take part in the first Bushtucker Trial, the Tomb of Torment.

Host Ant McPartlin, 40, told them: “You’re going to be locked underground in a cramped, pitch-black tomb for 10 minutes as 10 stars are on offer.

“Every star is worth a meal in camp.

“You’ll be joined by the most critters we’ve ever had in I’m A Celebrity history.”

Scarlett began to cry before they had even entered the tomb, confessing: “I hate small confined spaces.”

Ola, Sam, Jordan and Scarlett held hands as cockroaches, giant mealworms, rats, crickets and spiders rained down on them.

Jordan said: “Oh no, there’s a rat up my a**e.”

Scarlett came close to saying the infamous words to end the task, saying: “I wanna get out of here, no, no, I don’t, I don’t, I promise I won’t leave.”

After they completed the ten minutes, thus taking home ten meals, Ant and Dec dubbed them “the fantastic four”.
