Danniella Westbrook reveals secret love interest on This Morning – before pleading with him to commit
The star gave a bombshell interview on the ITV chat show, admitting suffering a drugs relapse, before opening up on her close friendship and love dreams
Speaking of her close pals, she told Holly and Phil: "I have some really good friends around me, and most of them do happen to be really good looking guys. Can't help that."
Holly pointed out a photo of the star cuddled up with Jake, and Danniella explained: "I have known him a really long time and he is a really good friend.
"This is a friend of mine Jake. [Smiling] Yeah neither of us do commitment though so we’re both like [unsure sound].
"Maybe I should just throw it out there and say ‘Jake you need to commit’, end of.”
On a positive end note, Danniella said “I'm concentrating on me and my recovery and the kids and getting back to work and the new business, I’m just taking every day as a blessing.”
The former EastEnders star, 43, has looked in good spirits in the series of clips on her social networking site recently.
Posing in one snap, the pair were cuddled up close watching TV together, with Danniella referring to her companion as “Jakey”.
As the star focused her camera on her sleeping dog on the floor, she said: “Babe even the dog’s in a better position than we are.”
Another clip then showed her asking her friend to change the channel, to which he replied: “Who needs the telly when I’ve got you.”
And elsewhere in her chat today, a brave Danniella opened up on her drugs relapse, and hitting rock bottom after a difficult break-up with ex George Arnold.
She explained: “I was so depressed all the time with everything. And one day my boyfriend was just gone. I was like, ‘I didn’t even know you at all then’.
“He had his reasons, and I wasn’t very easy to live with at the time, because I was depressed about the way I looked, not being able to make money, I felt like I was letting him and my kids down. He didn’t see it like that, but in the end it was just too much.
“I did relapse. I thought my whole world was over when he left.”
Asked if she had overdosed, Danniella said: “I tried to overdose a lot when George walked out."
As Phil asked what went through her head for her to want to end her life, the actress replied: “I felt like I’d let everybody down. I couldn’t earn money, I couldn’t do the jobs that were being offered to me, that I’d wanted for years.”
