Pixie Lott and McFly’s Danny Jones join will.i.am for The Voice Kids

The trio will host a new ITV show hunting for talented seven to 14-year-olds

BLACK Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has partnered up with Pixie Lott and Danny Jones to hunt down the UK's best singing talent for new show The Voice Kids - and he promises it will be just "dope."

Already a familiar face to The Voice viewers, will is now casting his eye on those aged between seven and 14 as the trio attempt to find the next Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.

After fans were treated to the first glimpse of the ITV programme's line-up he said: "Doing The Voice Kids with Pixie and Danny is going to be dope and I'm really excited to discover just how talented British kids can be."

Popstar Pixie will be able to empathise with the contestants after having started her career at the tender age of 15.

She was discovered by American record producer LA Reid and has gone on to sell more than 4 million singles and 1.6 million albums worldwide.

Meanwhile boyband star Danny, one-quarter of chart-topping group McFly, is intent on finding the next version.

Talking of his role in the judges' hot seat he gushed:   "I’m pumped about joining The Voice Kids team.

“There are so many talented kids out there, they just need to be heard and this is a great platform for them.

“I’m looking forward to finding some fresh talent and coaching them. You never know, there might be a mini McFly out there!”

Emma Willis will take on the hosting role for both The Voice Kids and The Voice - which will make its switch from the BBC to ITV next year.

ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning Siobhan Greene said: “We are so excited to be extending the opportunity for young singers to perform on The Voice with The Voice Kids."
