However, rather than acknowledge the fan fury, Maisie returned to social media to post a clip of the "best night" as she continued her loved-up holiday with Max, 34.

The 21 year old actress is currently enjoying a sun-soaked break with Max in Dubai and gave fans a peek into their luxury surroundings for the evening.

Showcasing a series of tables located within private pods, it seemed an idyllic setting for a romantic date night.

Tagging Max in the post, Maisie wrote: "Best night with you [red love heart emoji]."

In a separate post, Max appeared to make light of the situation as he shared a photo of the couple sipping on huge milkshakes adorned with a variety of sweets and chocolate bars as he captioned it: "Never. Eating. Again."

Just a day earlier, Maisie and Max were blasted by fans as they teased their followers with some “really exciting news” as Maisie, 21, held her stomach – before revealing she had in fact eaten a five course meal.

The ‘joke’ didn’t go down with many fans though, who branded it “disgraceful” to make light of pregnancy when so many people have suffered miscarriage or have been unable to conceive.

One person raged: “I used to like these 2 but not now. Pregnancy is NOT something to be Joked about. There's people out there that would love to be Parents that would give anything to have a Baby and for whatever reason they can't. So inconsiderate ,, Shameful.”

Another upset person wrote: “Pregnancy is not something to joke about when there are so many people that suffer everyday because they can’t have children x”

“I love Maisie but as someone who can’t have kids this really hits hard. Pregnancy is no joke to people who can’t have kids,” commented someone else.
