Taylor, 33, who is currently traversing the country on her sold-out Eras tour, and The Favourite actor, 32, reportedly split "a few weeks ago."

was the first to report the shocking news citing an unnamed source which was then confirmed by .

"It was not dramatic," ET was told. "The relationship had just run its course.

It's why [Joe] hasn't been spotted at any shows."

The Sun had been told, meanwhile, that Taylor flew to London last week and was said to have spent a quiet Easter with Joe who has been busy shooting his latest movie - given she had a break in her tour schedule.

FANS ARE IN A FRENZY

Swifties were left in a meltdown as one posted to Twitter: "I am choosing to not believe taylor swift and joe alwyn broke up."

"Me pretending not to care about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn broke up cuz I know it wasn’t true," wrote another fan.

"April fools was last week," wrote a third.

EXTREMELY PRIVATE PAIR

Taylor and Joe began dating in late 2016.

A source told back in October that they were "doing great" and that their "relationship is super strong."

"He is her rock," says the source. "Their relationship is mature and wonderful."

Taylor told Paul McCartney in a December interview with : "I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on,"

Meanwhile, the multi-Grammy winner's man - who has inspired many of her songs of late - recently spoke out about engagement rumors.

"If I had a pound for every time I think I've been told I've been engaged, then I'd have a lot of pound coins," Joe told

"I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn't say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn't say," he added.

In June 2022 The U.S. Sun was even told that the couple had gotten engaged "behind closed doors."

The pair has kept so private that Joe refused to talk about Taylor with British Vogue in 2018.

He then explained why he avoided doing so shortly after with .

"I understand people's curiosity in the world we live in, about people's private lives. Well, I don't understand it, but I know it exists.

"For me, I just don't feel it's something I want to offer up to be picked apart by people who don't know about it, and it's just not theirs to have."

HIT COUPLE

Taylor released Midnights- the fastest-selling album of 2022 - last October, with both the album and lead single Anti-Hero skyrocketing to No1.

Meanwhile, her Eras Tour has had all 52 shows sold out and is her first major tour since Reputation five years ago.

During her Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions film, which is a flick tied to her 2020 pandemic album, she opened up about how the pair even wrote songs together.

Taylor said: "I was like, 'Hey, this could be really weird and we could hate this [but] because we're in quarantine and there's nothing else going on, could we just try to write this song together?'"

Joe (under the pseudonym William Bowery) is credited as a co-writer on the hits "Betty" and the tune "Exile" from Folklore as well as on "Champagne Problems," "Coney Island," and "Evermore" on the 2020 follow-up album Evermore.

"Joe and I really love sad songs. We've always bonded over music," Taylor told Apple Music's Zane Lowe in December 2020.

"We write the saddest songs. We just really love sad songs. What can I say?"

SAVING IT FOR HER MUSIC

Taylor is believed to have met Joe in 2016 at the Met Gala in New York, and they started dating that October.

The Sun first revealed the secret relationship in May 2017, telling how Taylor had been going under the radar during trips to the UK to be with Joe, who grew up in North London.

In 2021 it was revealed the couple lived together in a $7million home in North London, although she frequently returned to the US, where she has many lavish properties.

After years of having her love life picked apart, Taylor seemingly hinted about the stable nature of her relationship and questions about when she and Joe would get married in her music.

On Midnight's opening track, Lavender Haze, she sang: “All they keep asking me is if I’m gonna be your bride.

“The only kinda girl they see is a one-night or a wife.”

Referring to marriage as “the 1950s s**t they want from me”, she continues of Joe: “I find it dizzying. They’re bringing up my history, but you weren’t even listening.”
