NICK'll FIX IT

DIY SOS fans urge Nick Knowles to help the Queen refurbish Buckingham Palace as they plan to spend £369million to do it up

Nick had viewers in tears this week after the Children In Need Special when they refurbished a carers centre in Blackpool

DIY SOS fans are urging Nick Knowles and his team to take on the job of refurbishing Buckingham Palace amid news the Queen plans to spend £369million doing it up next year.

His fans took to Twitter in their droves telling him to apply for the job - which will take 10 years - and suggesting hilarious programme titles like "SOS: HRH".

Nick's new job suggestion comes after he left viewers in tears when he merged two houses to create a youth centre for young carers in Blackpool for a Children In Need special.

Viewers were impressed by his ability to convert buildings at a fraction of the cost and think he could do the same for the Queen.

One tweeted: "Nice little decorating job if you're looking for a long term project @MrNickKnowles."

Another said: "Can't we just get Nick Knowles in to do Buckingham Palace? He'd take half the time and do it at a fraction of the cost!"

Someone else wrote: "If Buckingham Palace needs a lick of paint they could either call in Nick Knowles or open it to the public all year."

A fourth joked: "Elderly woman on benefits with big family needing a hand. Can you help? @DIYSOS @MrNickKnowles."

The show of support for Nick to take on the job comes after the incredible transformation at the carer's centre in Blackpool.

The Blackpool's Carer Centre needed more space to help the 400 young carers they support but a former NHS building they were given had been destroyed by vandals.

Nick and the DIY SOS team were joined by hundreds of volunteers and converted two houses into one large centre in just two weeks.

Speaking about the project, Nick said: "This is by far the biggest build we taken on this year.”

Viewers were left in tears when Nick showed the converted space to sisters Tiana and Gracie Cartwright who look after their mum who suffers from osteoporosis.

The girls welled up as Nick showed them their new areas to "chill", do their homework and play outside.
