I’m A Celebrity’s Wayne Bridge enrages ex Vanessa Perroncel after failing to tell her about jungle appearance
JUNGLE star Wayne Bridge has enraged the mother of his child after he failed to inform her about going into I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
The ex-England and Chelsea star, now married to Frankie Bridge from girlgroup The Saturdays, will miss the tenth birthday of son Jaydon whom he shares with French lingerie model Vanessa Perroncel.
And the 36-year-old is in hot water after former fiance Vanessa, 38, only found out after The Sun revealed the news last month.
A source said: “Vanessa was offered the jungle six years ago and refused.
“When she text Wayne to ask him if it was true or not he told her to ignore the gossip.
“The gloves could come off.
“Up until now she has refused many shows and interviews.
“That could be about to change.”
Wayne and Vanessa were together for five years until 2009.
But their relationship was overshadowed by her alleged six month relationship with England skipper John Terry after they had split.
Following the allegations, Wayne quit international football before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when the pair would have been in the England squad together.
He said his place in the squad was “untenable and potentially divisive”.
Married Terry was stripped of the England captaincy.
A source close to Vanessa said she is “shocked” he would enter the ITV programme having criticised others for taking part in reality shows in the past.
The source said: “He loved their privacy when they were together, he used to look unfavourably at people going on these shows and the intrusion they were inviting into their life, Vanessa would have never thought Wayne would go on.
“Wayne is very lucky Vanessa isn’t the kind to have courted publicity after their split.
“She has been offered a number of shows, including the jungle, but has turned them all down.
“She confronted him about the rumours he was going in and he said it was just press speculation.
"Now he will be in the jungle for weeks and she wasn’t even told.
“It was only very late in the day that he did admit it.
“By that point he had signed contracts and there was no turning back.”
Vanessa has never spoken publicly about her relationship with Wayne, or her alleged fling with disgraced England and Chelsea captain Terry.
The ex-footballer has struggled already in the Australian jungle after only a week - starting to cry as he talked to actor Larry Lamb, 69, about missing his kids.
After talking about how he is feeling, Larry asked him: “You’ve got another kid with another lady?”
Viewers then saw Wayne say to Larry: “It’s so difficult for me to talk about” before breaking down in tears.
The show then cut to Wayne in the Bush Telegraph with him clearly choked up saying: “I had a chat with Larry this morning, and some of the things he was telling me just made me think of my family.
“I’m married now and I’ve got three beautiful kids, they are amazing, but I find it hard to talk about.”
Ahead of entering the jungle, in Murwillumbah, Australia, the retired footballer hinted he was finally ready to discuss the 2010 scandal.
Ex-Chelsea left-back Wayne humiliated former best pal Terry, 35, by refusing a pre-match handshake on his return as a Manchester City player.
The snub came as they lined up against each other for the first time after revelations of Terry’s dalliance with Vanessa.
Ahead of entering the Australian jungle he said, Wayne said: “This whole thing is so different for me.
“I have never really put myself out there publicly before.
“People either say that I am famous for playing football or some might say I am famous for not shaking someone’s hand but I would like people to get to know me for who I am.”
