Huge Nineties rock stars forming supergroup for Glastonbury performance and album
ROCK has a new supergroup, with five big names forming a band.
I can reveal Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey, Oasis bassist Andy Bell and Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez have come together in Mantra Of The Cosmos.
The group have been working secretly on the project and recording their debut album for BMG.
It won’t be long before fans get to see them either, as they will play live at Glastonbury Festival next month.
In an exclusive interview revealing the exciting news, Shaun explained: “I’ve got a new band together.
“It’s me, Zak Starkey, you know, Ringo’s son, and the drummer in THE WHO, and Andy Bell from Oasis.

“And we’ve been making a new album.
“It’s a bit of a mixture of all that lot together.”
The group hope the album will be out this year.
But Shaun said fans won’t be able to predict their sound, as it is different from what each member has done in their own projects in the past.

He continued: “It doesn’t sound like the Mondays or Black Grape or Oasis or The Who, it’s what we’re doing all together.
"It’s coming out very soon.
“We’re doing Glastonbury with Mantra Of The Cosmos this year.
“It’s coming out pretty soon.”
Shaun may be back in the charts long before that comes out though.
Last night it was revealed Manchester band The Lottery Winners are leading the race to No1 with their fifth album Anxiety Replacement Therapy, which Shaun is featured on.
He sings with them on the track Money, while Frank Turner and Boy George are also on the record.
And following his recent stint on telly’s I’m A Celebrity . . . South Africa, Shaun should have no problem getting some extra showbiz pals on his band’s new album, too.
MAMMA MIA! THREE
MAMMA Mia! will return for a third film, with a comeback on the cards for Meryl Streep despite her character having died before the second movie.
Judy Craymer, who came up with the idea for the hit musical, said she has a storyline for the movie which means a return for fan favourites including Meryl as Donna Sheridan and Amanda Seyfried as her daughter.
She revealed: “It’s in its earliest stages.
“I don’t want to over-egg it, but I know there’s a trilogy there.
“There is a story, and I do think Meryl should come back – and if the script is right, she would, I think, because she really loved playing Donna.”
The original 2008 movie, from the West End hit based around Abba songs, was a box office smash and the 2018 follow-up, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, became a fan favourite.
Phyllida Lloyd, who directed the first film, told Bizarre last month that she was confident it would happen.
She said: “Judy, the producer, is an incredible force of nature and I expect she will pull that off.
“If anyone can do it, she will.”
Speaking last year about the prospect, ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus – who is now focusing on the group’s ABBA Voyage show in London – said: “I personally do not think there’s a Mamma Mia 3.
“But I’ve been wrong before.
“Someone comes up with an idea we can’t resist and here we go again . . . Perhaps.”
CHER AND TOYBOY SPLIT UP
CHER has split from her toyboy boyfriend.
The Believe singer was first linked to music producer Alexander “AE” Edwards in November and she then showed off a £200,000 diamond ring at Christmas, which she hinted was given to her during a proposal.
But it’s now been revealed that the couple quietly split last month and were never actually engaged.
Cher, who at 76 is 39 years older than Alexander, 37, had said she didn’t give a “flying f***” what anyone thought about their age difference.
They made their red carpet debut at a fashion show in March and she said they planned to work together on music in the UK.
At the time, she explained: “I’m going to England to make two albums so I want to get that finished first.
“Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that.
“He’s a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I’m happy about that.”
She might need to add a few heartbreak tracks now.
WOODY: MATT IS MY BRO
WOODY HARRELSON believes it is “very much true” that his pal Matthew McConaughey is his brother.
Matthew told last month he had suspicions his mother had been intimate with fellow actor Woody’s dad, but didn’t want to get a DNA test.
Woody told Esquire mag: “Well, it’s very much true.
“I learned from Matthew’s mother that she did have a relationship with my father for a relatively short period, with the time of Matthew’s, let’s say, origination.
“There are too many times that I think to myself, my God, the similarities!
“The things he does, the things he says, just the way he is.
“I’ve felt that for years.”
HEIDI'S DONE IT AGAIN
THEY were branded “weird” when they first posed in lingerie together last autumn.
But the criticism hasn’t put off supermodel Heidi Klum and her model daughter Leni from doing it again.
They have joined forces for an Intimissimi campaign, holding hands while showing off the undies.
Heidi has turned off comments on her Instagram so people can’t tell her their opinion, but Leni has said she is oblivious to the criticism.
She said in November: “I didn’t look at a lot of the reactions.
“I am happy with the campaign and I had an amazing day with my mom.”
Bizbit
MAYA JAMA has whisked herself off to a wellness retreat in Thailand after struggling to find “balance” in her life.
The Love Island host said she needed the break before the next series of the ITV2 show kicks off next month.
In a post on Instagram, Maya – who also told how she had missed her first flight to her resort – wrote: “This week I chose to come to Thailand alone for a wellness retreat for a week before everything gets hectic with work again, instead of partying in America, because I’m trying to master balance.
“Small bit of growth.”
If only we could all afford to do the same.
LIVE: DURAN DURAN, London’s O2 Arena
★★★★★
“WE love this room, it’s like home to us,” Simon Le Bon told a delighted crowd at Duran Duran’s show in the capital.
While the venue didn’t exist in the band’s Eighties heyday, Simon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor certainly made themselves at home as they smashed through hit after hit including Wild Boys, The Reflex and Notorious.
Simon sounded just as good as he does on the band’s records as he held court over the adoring crowd, who appreciated their newer material but went nuts for their impressive back catalogue.
“This song saved the life of Duran Duran” Simon revealed before a rousing rendition of 1992’s Ordinary World, while another highlight saw them fuse CALVIN HARRIS’ Acceptable In The 80s with Girls on Film.
A joyous performance of Rio rounded off the night before Simon declared: “This was f***ing amazing”. It was, lads.
