Strictly Come Dancing viewers outraged as Ed Balls sails through to next week but Greg Rutherford is sent home
Ed descended from the ceiling while playing a flaming piano on Saturday night's show
STRICTLY Come Dancing viewers have been left outraged as Ed Balls has avoided the dance off once again.
Despite being on the bottom of the leaderboard with 23 points, the former MP has been voted through to next week while Greg Rutherford and Natalie Lowe were sent home after a dance off with Claudia and AJ.
Speaking after the shock result, Ed said: "The only reason we're here is because people have voted for us again so all I can say is thank you. I'm giving people a chance to see Katya's brilliant choreography every week."
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves to complain with many saying Greg didn't deserve to be in the dance off for the second week in a row.
One wrote: "Seriously?? Who is voting for Ed Balls?"
Another said: "Who exactly is voting for Ed Balls? #Strictly unbelievable #votingchaos."
Someone else added: "Can I just say this is terrible telly. Ed doesn't deserve to get through next week. He should be in the bottom two #Strictly #SCD."
However, others defended Ed saying he brings a much-need entertainment value to the BBC One reality show.
One fan said: "I voted for @edballs and I'm not ashamed to say it. He cheers me up and makes me laugh every week #edballs #strictly #Strictlyresults."
Another wrote: "To everyone complaining about Ed Balls in #strictly, if it was a straight up dancing competition with no 'celebs' you prob wouldn't watch.."
Ed opted for a VERY dramatic entrance for his performance last night - descending from the ceiling playing a flaming piano.
However, while he may have ended up bottom of the leaderboard, his jive to 'Great Balls of Fire' with partner Katya had high energy.
Len praised the politician, telling him: "You’re getting better. You came down there [on the piano] and made Blackpool rock."
Whilst Bruno said: "You are strangely addictive and to my surprise, most of it looked like a jive."
