Strictly Come Dancing’s Danny Mac brands Gorka Marquez’s Blackpool beating ‘awful’ as the dancer recovers from horrific injuries
STRICTLY Come Dancing's Danny Mac has described Gorka Marquez 's Blackpool beating as "awful" as the dancer continues to recover from horiffic injuries.
The dance professional was the victim of a vicious attack by a group of thugs, and Danny has declared he feels "so sorry" for hi.
Gorka, 26, lost two teeth in the fracas after being ambushed in the northern town on Saturday night as he walked to a night club.
Danny was asked about the upsetting incident during an appearance on This Morning today, and he declared he was very "sorry" to hear about Gorka's troubles.
He said: "I wasn't there... It's awful... I'm so sorry.
"I wish him well... I haven't spoken to him yet. I only saw it today."
The incident came just hours after Gorka partnered fellow pro Janette Manrara, 33, in a routine to Rick Astley’s seminal 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
The attack on Gorka is believed to have been random and unprovoked, and the dancer is expected to undergo emergency dental surgery today.
He was pictured for the first time since the attack as he left his hotel in Blackpool.
Gorka looked downcast and kept his mouth tightly shut as he walked with a group of friends.

A friend told The Sun: “Gorka and a few of the other dancers were heading to a nightclub to let their hair down after another brilliant show.
“All of a sudden this group of local louts came out of nowhere.
“One of them punched Gorka in the face and broke two of his teeth...
"Gorka was sober, he doesn’t drink.
"This was an entirely random and shocking attack on a group of friends simply trying to enjoy a night out.
"He wasn’t angry, he was just more shaken by the event.
"They went straight back to the hotel to see if he needed urgent medical care before going back to London for dental surgery.”
Gorka is no longer part of the competition after being booted off twice.
He left in week three along with his partner Tameka Empson, but was brought back to dance with Anastacia when her partner Brendan Cole fell ill.
