I’m A Celebrity star Danny Baker’s wife defends him against angry critics, insisting he’s ‘never been a bully’
I'M A Celebrity star Danny Baker's wife has defended him against angry critics who have claimed he's "ruining" the jungle show - insisting he's never been a "bully".
The broadcasting star, 59, has had a controversial few days on the ITV show, after he got into two angry rows with Martin Roberts in front of his startled campmates.
The latest saw Danny take on Martin over Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, accusing him of her treating her like "some silly kid" - with Martin later reduced to tears over the confrontation.
And his wife Wendy has now come to his rescue, insisting he's not out to hurt anyone.
“I’ve been married to him for 35 years and he’s never come across as a bully," she told the
“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it doesn’t affect anything really.”
It comes after Homes Under The Hammer star Martin began crying following the latest angry argument.
It began when he had a run-in with Camp President Scarlett over keeping the camp stocked with water and it all became too much for him.
After enjoying a dinner of hare, thanks to Martin winning eight stars in the earlier Bushtucker Trial, Carol and Lisa noticed there wasn’t enough water for the clean-up.
Carol flagged this to Adam who was part of the camp maintenance team with Martin.
Camp President Scarlett suggested that Martin join Adam as it was a lot of carrying but he ignored her request and this was the last straw for Danny.
Danny snapped at him: “Martin, she’s the President mate, whatever she says to do, you do it.”
It quickly escalated and ended with Martin apologising to his fellow stars, in a flood of hysterical tears.
The pair have since made amends, and shook hands - putting the tense rows behind them.
Kirsty revealed the star can often “throw his toys out the cot” – but after thinking over his actions, he’ll “wear his heart on his sleeve”.
