Cheryl backs Honey G to win The X Factor as she confirms she will release new music next year
Pop star insisted she doesn't watch the show any more since leaving the panel but has heard a lot about the rapper
CHERYL has thrown her support behind Honey G and declared the controversial rapper is her favourite to win The X Factor.
The former judge admits she doesn't watch the show any more now she has left the panel, but she is backing the aspiring hip-hop star.
In an interview with Hello magazine, Cheryl revealed her nieces and nephews are obsessed with Honey G and the rapper has won her over.
When asked whether she still watches The X Factor, Cheryl replied: "No I haven't - should I be?
"I have heard a lot about Honey G though...

"My nieces and nephews think she is great and I really hope she wins, just for them."
Fans of The X Factor have been divided over Honey G and many were left outraged over the weekend when she made it through to the next round.
Many also believe the rapper is not all that she seems, and X Factor reject Ryan Lawrie, who lost in the sing off to Honey G this weekend, has suggested she is a fake.
He even compared her to comedy creation Keith Lemon.
During an appearance on This Morning yesterday, he said: "
“I feel [it’s] like a Keith Lemon vibe.. Like a character she portrays.
“I feel it’s a side to her in a sense…”
In the interview, Cheryl goes on to reveal she has been working on new music, but fans won't get to hear her new tracks until next year.
She added: "I am working on new music and have been for a while.
"I'm not going to release it until I am 100 per cent happy and I'm getting there, but it won't be until next year."
Cheryl headed back to the studio this year to work on a new album.
She documented her time recording new tracks, but she has also been busy with other projects.
As well as releasing a new perfume, she has also been working with cosmetics giant L'Oreal in her role as a spokesperson for the beauty brand.
