Cheryl leads tributes to wish Kanye West ‘a speedy and healthy recovery’ as he’s taken to hospital ‘suffering temporary psychosis’

The singer was among those who expressed her sadness over the rapper’s mental health struggles

CHERYL has shown her support for Kanye West as news emerges that he was rushed to hospital following a “psychiatric emergency.”

The 33-year-old singer who has recently opened up about her battle with depression, led the support for the 39-year-old rapper by posting: "It's not nice to hear of anybody struggling with their mental health.. Wishing Kanye a speedy and healthy recovery"

Cheryl - who is rumoured to be pregnant with Liam Payne's baby, opened up about her own mental health problems on The One Show this month when she revealed she battled with depression as a teen.

Kanye was reportedly suffering from “temporary psychosis” when he was rushed to hospital due to an alleged “psychiatric emergency”.

In an emergency call obtained by TMZ Dr. Michael Farzam said his patient’s name was “Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5’8″, 175 lbs … suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.”

You can then hear the call handler describe the situation as a “psychiatric emergency”.

West was taken to hospital for psychiatric evaluation hours after cancelling the remaining 21 dates of his Saint Pablo tour and launched a verbal attack on Jay Z and Beyoncé while on stage in Sacramento.

Police responded to a call about a “disturbance” around 1:20pm Pacific Time (9.20pm GMT) at the home of West’s trainer Harley Pasternak.

Someone at the home were said to have called 911, saying Kanye was acting “erratically.”

When they arrived the incident was then deemed to be a “medical emergency”.

Sources close to Kanye told the site the rapper and fashion designer was getting checked out by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when police were first called.

that Kanye was then taken to UCLA Medical Center in the city “for his own health and safety”.

Since the news broke, a host of A-listers have come out in force in order to support the star as he battles with his mental health.

Chance the Rapper, who featured on today's BBC Radio 1Xtra, used the platform to send his prayers to his "big brother Kanye" before perfroming a cover of Drake's Feel No Ways.

He said: ";I want to extend a special prayer to my big brother Kanye West. I know there’s a lot of weird folks out there but you already know that I’m a hundred grand. I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain.

"We might come home early to see this. Happy Thanksgiving."

American actor and comedian Marlon Wayans, known for his role in parody Scary Movie, said: "And I hope u all pray for too. He's not just an artist but he's a father, a son a husband and above human. Get well soon"

Singer Janelle Monae also added her well wishes to the star and tweeted: "PRAYING FOR KANYE. PRAYING HE HAS THE RIGHT ENERGY SURROUNDING HIM DURING THIS TIME. SENDING PEACE AND LOVE."
