Elton John denies he will play at the US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration

Singer supported Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton during election and refutes claims he will sing at Trump do in January

A REP for Elton John denied he will play the inauguration Jan. 20 in Washington, DC, despite claims by a Donald Trump adviser.

“Elton will not be performing at Trump’s inauguration,” the rep said.

Anthony Scaramucci, a member of the Trump presidential transition team executive committee, as well as a vice chair of the presidential inaugural committee, earlier : “Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for inauguration.”

Having the “Rocket Man” singer perform, he continued, “shows our commitment to gay rights.”

John, 69, came out as gay in 1988. The glam pop icon married Canadian filmmaker David Furnish in 2014, when gay marriage became legal in Britain.

“This will be the first American president in US history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance,” Scaramucci claimed.

During the campaign, the singer supported Democrat Hillary Clinton.
