We Buy Any Car takes drastic step to remove all trace of Phillip Schofield partnership

WE Buy Any Car has taken drastic steps to remove all traces of its partnership with Philip Schofield.

The second-hand car site is one of several companies distancing themselves from the ex-This Morning presenter following his confession of an affair with a “much younger” ITV worker.

Schofield was paid £1million a year to front the used car buying service’s advertising, according to reports.

But the company axed the host last year when his co-star Holly Willoughby, 41, faced a huge backlash after jumping the 12-hour line into Westminster Hall to pay respects to the Queen.

And now, in another blow to the 61-year-old, We Buy Any Car has removed all adverts featuring him from their YouTube channel.

And his face has also been removed from the company’s social media pages.

The adverts had portrayed Schofield as “the most loved man in Britain”.

One commercial showed his face on cakes and a statue unveiled of him in an office. 

Phillip was replaced by TikTok star Mufasa, real name Jeff Obeng, who has racked up nearly a million followers through his wacky routines from the passenger seat of a car.

It comes after the firm behind Philip’s wine brand pulled the plug earlier this week.

When in Rome joined forces with the star in 2020 to launch two new boxed wines, sold exclusively in Waitrose stores and Waitrose Cellar.

But last night the company had removed all listings of his product from their website.

A simple message told shoppers there are “no products in this collection”.

Schofield sensationally left This Morning last week after revealing he had an affair with the much-younger male employee.

The star, who was married at the time, branded the relationship "unwise but not illegal".

His admission catapulted the show into chaos - with Holly Willoughby's future now in doubt.

Schofields' 40-year career has since been left in tatters - with the Prince's Trust axing him from his role as an ambassador.

He was also scrubbed from This Morning's social media and website as the fallout from his affair continues.
