HOLLY Willoughby struggled to hold in her tears when she came face to face with the husband of a cancer victim whose story has been made into a film.
St John Greene wrote The Mum's List which was inspired by his wife Kate’s battle with breast cancer.
Greeting John, 44, known as Singe, Holly looked overwhelmed and, along with her co-host, Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba, the pair listened intently as they found out how his life has changed.
Singe was left to care for the couple’s two children Reef and Finn when Kate lost her battle with cancer aged just 37.
He bagged a £100,000 publishing deal for Mum's List which has now been made into a film starring Emilia Fox - who also appeared alongside the family on This Morning.
Emilia, who plays Kate in the film, said the story affected everyone who worked on it.
She explained how one crew member “drove back to Wales every night to kiss his children goodnight".
She added: “He wanted to put his arms around his kids.”
Kate left John a list of 100 instructions to guide Singe through parenting their boys.
Speaking to Singe in 2012, Holly broke down in floods of tears as Singe told their story.
Instructions on the list included: “Kiss the boys goodnight x 2” and “take the boys diving in Belize."
After the show, Holly tweeted: “Sorry about that! What a wonderful family xxx.”
The film had it's European premiere in London's Leicester Square on Wednesday evening where stars including Jamie Dornan appeared on the red carpet.
Fans of This Morning were touched by Singe's story and took to Twitter to praise his bravery.
