I worked on This Morning but was forced to quit – I know how toxic it really was behind the scenes
A WOMAN who worked on This Morning said she was forced to quit and has now revealed how toxic it is behind the scenes.
Emily Maddick was the former head of news at the ITV daytime show but only managed to stick it out for three months.
Having accepted the role in September 2019, Emily claimed by December, a "culture of intimidation" prevented her from being able to do her job.
Handing in her resignation, the now Glamour Magazine assistant editor said she suffered at the hands of sexism, bullying and homophobia.
In an exit interview to ITV's HR department Emily wrote: "I am sad to report there is a culture of intimidation at This Morning and on a number of occasions this has prevented me from doing my job to the best of my ability.
"I witnessed a number of incidents where I felt XX was unreasonable and unkind to a female producer and it created a climate of fear.

"I also overheard what I found to be sexist comments.
"I worry about my team’s mental health."
Emily wrote in how she had heard the rumours about Phillip Schofield, 61, and his teen colleague during her short stint on the show.
She said: "Did I think that those in power knew about Schofield and his lover? Yes, I believe they were complicit."

Emily also branded Schofield and pal Holly Willoughby's friendship fake, adding: "Were King and Queen of ‘kindness’, the BFFs of bonhomie, Holly and Phil, as fun, friendly and fits-of-fizzy-giggles-funny as they appear on screen? No."
It comes after ex-colleagues Eamonn Holmes and Dr Ranj also outed the show's toxic culture following the Schofield scandal.
Schofield has seen his career skydive in just a few weeks after he was forced out of This Morning before quitting ITV altogether.
He exited the sofa following an ongoing feud with co-star Holly.
Just six days later, he made a bombshell revelation about an affair he had with a much younger male while he was married.
Schofield has since sat down with The Sun revealing the moment he participated in the affair.
The former presenter insisted he had not groomed the boy, who started working on This Morning before moving to Loose Women.
Loose Woman Carol McGiffin also said last night rumours were circulating around 2019 of the runner's affair with Schofield.
