When is the Jonathan Creek Christmas special, who’s in the cast and what’s it about?
JONATHAN Creek will return to the BBC for the first time since 2014 in a creepy Christmas special, 19 years after the comedy drama first aired.
Alan Davies reprises his role as the title sleuth in what he calls the "spookiest ever" episode, Daemon's Roost, about a horror film director who dies in a haunted house.
Here's what we know so far about the 90-minute special.
What's it about?
The episode, written by David Renwick, sees Creek called to a young woman's childhood home, Daemons' Roost, to solve the mystery of what happened to her family.
The house once belonged to a 19th-century sorcerer, who summoned the powers of Hell to torment victims within its walls.
It was recently occupied by the woman's stepfather, a veteran horror director, who had planned to reveal its secrets to her — but before he could he suffered a stroke, which left him paralysed.

Shane Allen, head of comedy at the BBC, said: "[This is] another sublime and intricately conceived treat from David Renwick and a welcome return for Alan Davies in this signature role.
"You can see the influence of David's unique blend of dark comedy and crime drama across television since the debut of this show nearly 20 years ago, as it remains a pioneering class act and evergreen favourite with the audience."
Who's in the cast?
Sarah Alexander joins Alan Davies in returning to the show, playing the investigator's wife, Polly Creek.
Guest stars include Star Wars actor Warwick Davis as a reverend called upon to perform an exorcism, as well as Game of Thrones' Emun Elliot and Doctor Who's Ken Bones, plus Rosalind March, Jason Barnett and Jo Martin.
When is it on?
Jonathan Creek's Christmas special will be broadcast on Wednesday December 28 at 9pm.
