When does Elementary season five start on Sky Living, who’s in the cast and what’s it about?
SHERLOCK Holmes drama, Elementary, is back for season 5 after an explosive season 4 finale back in May.
But it won't be long until you can find out what Morland is going to do in the Moriarty organisation.
Here is everything you need to know about when to tune in.
When does Elementary season five start on Sky Living?
It has been a six months since the last season ended, but season 5 kicks off in the UK on 13 December at 9pm on Sky Living.
It will run for 24 episodes, and will probably take a mid season break over Christmas.
The show has already been renewed for a sixth season.
Who's in the cast?
Jonny Lee Miller stars as Sherlock Holmes, the eccentric former Scotland Yard consultant who now lives in New York City after completing drug rehabilitation there for addiction-related problems.
Surgeon Joan Watson is played by Lucy Liu, and Sherlock's protegee Kitty Winter is English actress Ophelia Lovibond.
John Noble plays Sherlock's father Morland, with Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill as members of the NYPD.
Natalie Dormer stars as Irene Adler/Jamie Moriarty and Rhys Ifans plays Mycroft Holmes.
What's it about?
The show follows Holmes, a recovering drug addict and former consultant to Scotland Yard, as he assists the New York City Police Department in solving crimes.
His indifference to police procedure often leads to conflict with the police Captain , although the two still remain mutually respectful of one another.
He is accompanied by Dr. Joan Watson, who initially acts as his sober companion.
She is a former surgeon and was hired by Sherlock's father to help him in his rehabilitation.
They eventually begin to work together on his cases, and she becomes Holmes' apprentice.
The series also features Holmes' ongoing conflict with his nemesis Jamie Moriarty.
Sherlock takes on another apprentice Kitty Winter during the show.
Where did we leave off?
In the previous season, Sherlock seems to be following his father's footsteps by not being too close with anyone.
According to executive producer Rob Doherty, the past four seasons saw Sherlock Holmes as someone who is "willing to pull more people in."
"As we get into season 5, he knows what works for him," Doherty told .
"He knows a good thing when he sees it. Lucky for him, he has many good things in his life now. That's not to say there won't be hard times. I don't believe he's going to make any changes that would echo the decision his father makes at the end of the finale."
And the love arc between Sherlock and Fiona (Betty Gilpin) is set to continue into the new season.
