Darcey made her position clear on Radio 2’s The Chris Evans Breakfast Show yesterday.

Chris asked her to imagine Ed had done his dances but that the public phone lines had not worked and she had the deciding vote.

The host asked: “Is he through to the next week, or is he off the show?” Darcey exclaimed: “Out!”

But Ed’s partner Katya Jones insisted: “We can get to the final.”

Show chiefs have made it tougher for him with tonight’s Cha-Cha Challenge for which the judges will give extra points.

Ed struggled with the cha-cha in the Halloween show and rates the dance a “nightmare”.

Katya, 27, reckons they could go through and would not be embarrassed if they did at the expense of celebrities deemed better dancers.

She said: “Whoever the audience thinks deserves to win, will win. If we went all the way to the final I wouldn’t feel embarrassed because I know how hard he’s worked.

“I don’t think he gets nearly enough credit for his dancing. He’s pretty good.”
