WE all remember hunky Brendan Fraser running around the sandy dunes of Egypt fighting off mummies and all sorts of nasty things.
But this time it’s Tom Cruise’s turn as he stars in a brand new Mummy film which is rebooting the Mummy franchise. Here's what we know.

What is The Mummy all about?
Tom Cruise leads an all-star cast in a brand-new film about the legend that is The Mummy.
It is a reboot of the Mummy franchise, but not to be confused with the 1999 film of the same name starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.
The new film, set in modern day, sees a group of paramilitary archaeologists bring an entombed mummy from Egypt to London but it awakens and reveals itself as ancient Queen Ahmanet, whose destiny was taken away from her.
Now the team face a race against time to defeat the Mummy and send her back to her tomb as she unleashed chaos in revenge for her fate.
Who’s in The Mummy cast?
Tom Cruise stars as Nick Morton who is a former US military officer who is just unlucky enough to awaken the spirits from beyond.
He's joined by Annabelle Wallis who will be playing Jennifer Halsey, an archaeologist who works for a monster hunting organisation called Prodigium.
New Girl and Jurassic Park stars Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance are also joining the cast playing military roles who are close to Nick Morton.
Sofia Boutella stars as The Mummy herself, Princess Ahmanet. Sofia is best known for her role in Colin Firth movie, Kingsman.
Cruise’s most experienced co-star is Russell Crowe who stars as Dr Jekyll – making this film part of the upcoming Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe.
Why is Dr Jekyll in a film about the Mummy?
The Mummy is the first instalment in the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe after the studio announced in in 2013 that it would be rebooting films from the original Universal Monsters series.
Universal will also be making The Invisible Man, starring Johnny Depp in the titular role, Bride of Frankenstein, starring Javier Bardem as the monster, Count Dracula, The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon.
When is The Mummy out and is there a trailer?
The Mummy is due to hit cinemas this Friday (June 16, 2017).
The trailer opens with Cruise looking nervously at the Mummy's sarcophagus inside a military cargo plane before a swarm of birds attack the plane which crashes.Tom's character then wakes up from within a body bag as Crowe's voice over says: "Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters."
There are lots of actions shots - including Cruise being propelled through a London bus at full speed - as Queen Ahmanet goes on a violent rampage through the city.
