Louise Redknapp admits she nearly QUIT Strictly Come Dancing over fears she couldn’t compete with the other girls
The 42-year-old singer admitted her nerves got the better of her to begin with - but now she's odds on to take home the trophy
LOUISE Redknapp wowed audiences yesterday with her Calamity Jane inspired routine on Strictly - but she's revealed that she nearly didn't make it past her first day.
The , who is partnered with Kevin Clifton on the show and has become a fan favourite, admitted that being around the female dancers left her nervous that she couldn't live up to the mark.
She told : "“That first day they were all just so gorgeous and confident and they had their dresses on and they were all tight and short and I just remember thinking 'I can't do this, I can't go through with this, I can't compete with these girls. I don't want to."
Thankfully, Louise was able to work past her insecurities and bond with her co-stars, and now the Strictly glitterball trophy looks more within her reach than ever.

Now, she is one of two girls remaining in the competition - performing alongside Olympic gymnast Claudia Fragapane, who is 22 years her junior.
But the pair have joined forces to help each other through the last hurdles, with Claudia revealing to The Sun that she had told Louise about her bum glue tip to keep skimpy outfits in place during performances.
The British Olympic gymnast, 19, revealed that she often applies bum glue onto her skin to stop her leotard from riding “right up”.
She said: “We share tips. Before she asked me how my leotard doesn’t ride right up and I said you have to get bum glue."
The Team GB star added: "I said to them if I don’t use my bum glue when I do my competitions and it does ride right up you can’t touch it when you’re on the floor.
"If you take it out and touch your leotard if it goes right up and you try and take it out and cover your bum while you’re doing your routine you lose marks.
"You have to just flaunt it. But yeah I don’t think we need bum glue just as much at Strictly as you’re wearing dresses and the way the designers do the dresses are really clever."
