Kate Moss lands her first real job as she sells Vietnamese food from a van with her brother, Nick
Supermodel takes a well-earned break from the pressures of the runway to flog £6 dinners to customers in East London
IT’S taken more than 40 years, but KATE MOSS has landed her first real job.
The supermodel took a break from walking up and down a raised platform to flog £6 hot dinners from a truck selling Vietnamese food in Brick Lane, East London.
The gig is only part-time but if she impresses her brother and truck owner Nick she could be asked back to help handle the breakfast rush.
A sweet and sour source said: “Kate is usually seen in the most glamorous settings so she stuck out a mile serving food in Brick Lane.
“There were no airs and graces, though. She got stuck in and played up to the punters. She had a real rapport with them.
“At one point she started shouting ‘C’mon, get ya Viet buns’, in a Cockney accent, before bursting into giggles with passing customers.
“It just shows that she is actually quite down-to-earth.”
Nick opened the food truck, called Vietvan, last year and jokingly boasts that he operates in New York, Paris and Peckham — a nod to hit Eighties TV series, Only Fools and Horses. Like the vehicle owned by show’s main character Derek “Del Boy” Trotter — played by legendary actor DAVID JASON — Nick’s van is also bright yellow. But instead of being assisted by his dippy younger brother, like Del, the former model has roped in his famous older sister.
Kate served punters a range of Vietnamese baguettes with fillings such as spicy pulled pork and slow-cooked lemongrass star anise beef.
It hardly fits in with her famous saying: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”
It’s a life mantra which I totally disagree with, as the pain of feeling hungry simply isn’t worth the end result.
Dishing out food from the serving hatch of her brother’s food truck is a slightly different task to the one Kate was given last week.
Kate was spotted arriving at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios, where the album was recorded.
If there’s anybody who would have approved of her new line of work, it would be the King of fast food, Elvis.

Manager's off the Boyle
THE man who steered SUSAN BOYLE to worldwide success is quitting.
I can reveal her long-term manager Andy Stephens has resigned from her three companies, which is a huge blow to SuBo.
He’s guided her entire career since she exploded on to the scene during her Britain’s Got Talent audition in 2009. The pair were always close, once pictured holding hands, and their parting was on good terms.
A source said: “There is no bad blood between them.
“Andy is going to stick around for the next 18 months to ensure it’s a seemless handover.
“He cares very much for Susan but knows it’s now the right time to leave. She’ll miss his influence, there is no doubting that.”
Susan is currently promoting her new album, Wonderful World, her seventh in as many years.
It entered the chart at No22 last week but the singer is hoping to see a steady rise thanks to the festive market.
I just hope, for her sake, she gets a top new manager for Christmas.
Cruz gets his Scooter
DAVID and VICTORIA BECKHAM’s bid to turn son CRUZ into the next JUSTIN BIEBER has taken a significant step.
The Canadian’s manager, SCOOTER BRAUN, has taken the youngster under his wing.
Now it appears he has backed up his interest, after the budding pop star set up a new Instagram account yesterday stating it is being managed by Scooter.
And surely Cruz’s fashionable parents will make sure his dress sense does not go awry.
Posh would struggle to accept her son wearing the leggings under shorts outfit Justin had on for a US TV chat with ELLEN DEGENERES on Sunday.
Demi's wild time
SHE’s racked up a staggering 3.2million Instagram followers.
But Birmingham-born model DEMI ROSE MAWBY was still thrown by the attention she received during her whirlwind romance with TYGA – the long-term love of KYLIE JENNER.
She told SIXTY6 magazine, out today: “It happened really fast. He had been messaging me then I went to a party in Cannes and bumped into him. He was quirky, funny, genuine, that’s what I liked about him. We ended up spending the rest of our time there together but logistically it didn’t work out.”

KYLIE is all wrapped up and ready for her seasonal shows this weekend.
On Friday and Saturday the Aussie will perform her A Kylie Christmas concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.
She will be launching her first ever pop-up store there too.
On offer will be stacks of the latest merchandise, displays of her costumes, festive decorations and stuff for the home.
I’ve been looking everywhere for some Kylie wallpaper.
Mariah's drama on the telly
WHEREVER MARIAH CAREY goes, drama seems to follow.
She sobs: “The Apple TV is the most important thing for Ms MC.
“If she can’t have the Apple TV playing while she’s sleeping then she can’t sleep.
“If she can’t sleep, she can’t perform. If she can’t perform, there’s no show. If it’s not there everything else falls apart.”
It might be time for poor Molly to find a new job.
