Demi Rose Mawby, UK’s Queen of Instagram lifts the lid on her rise to fame and secrets behind those incredible curves
The Birmingham beauty hit the headlines after dating musician Tyga in May
BRITAIN’S Queen of Instagram Demi Rose Mawby has opened up about her whirlwind romance with rap superstar Tyga.
The Birmingham beauty, who has racked up 3.2million followers by beguiling users with a string of raunchy snaps, hit the headlines when she dated the 27-year-old in May.
Now Demi, 21, has laid bare the details of the relationship as she becomes SIXTY6 magazine’s inaugural cover girl.
In an exclusive interview, she said: “It was interesting, it just happened really fast.
“He had been messaging me then I went to a party in Cannes and bumped into him. He was nice and we got along. And I spent some time with him.
“We ended up spending the rest of our time there together.”
But Demi — from a middle class home in quiet Sutton Coldfield — said she had been thrown by the amount of attention she received during the affair.
She continued: “Yes, it was insane.
“I didn’t expect to meet him but he was a nice guy, that’s why we got along. He was quirky, funny, genuine, that’s what I liked about him.”
But she insists she had not been left heartbroken as her relationship with Kylie Jenner’s on/off beau fizzled out.
She said: “We really liked each other but logistically it didn’t work out in the end. But you know, everything happens for a reason.
“I’m not heartbroken though. For now I’m just doing me!”
Demi, a bank manager’s daughter who likes cooking and playing with her cat Raggles and dog Leo, also describes bursting onto the social media scene at 18.
She said: “I’ve had Instagram since I was 18. Posed for selfies and pictures and it just grew from like 60,000 to 200,000 to a million to 3.2million now.
“In school I was quite popular on MySpace and that kind of followed on to Instagram. It was really weird when people started recognising me and stuff on the street. I just got used to it.”
Having moved to the USA to pursue a career in lingerie modelling, Demi elevated her profile by falling in with notorious American publicity group Taz’s Angels.
But now Demi reveals that she is no longer part of the subculture run by Taz — billed as the “black Hugh Hefner” — and denies it was ever an escort agency.
She said: “No it was never like that at all. Not an escort agency at all. We were hosting clubs and having fun. Just being popular on social media and showing people a bit of our life.
“The Taz’s Angels is still happening but I’m just not a part of it any more.
“We went to parties and hosted clubs, we went to America, we saw the world. It did make me more internationally known.”
Admitting that her best asset is her bum, Demi says she owes her initial popularity to her curves and describes the gruelling fitness regimen and diet it takes to maintain them.
She said: “Bikini pictures usually do the best, and body pictures, cute dress and a smile...but usually if my body is in it, it does well.
“I have a Nike trainer and I train with him in Birmingham. We do lots of glutes work and abs work, 30 mins each. It’s hard work, and I eat quite healthy too. He trains a lot of footballers and has worked with Anthony Joshua.
“If I’m in Birmingham I try to go to the gym three to four times a week. I don’t really have much carbs, basically nuts, nuts, nuts. For breakfast it’s usually eggs, lunch it has to be something light like a chicken or prawn salad with a superfood.
“For dinner I like protein, like fish with vegetables or sushi. Then more nuts. My guilty pleasure is chocolate nuts or salted nuts!”
But despite her hard work and social media status, Demi still has insecurities — and also revealed how her taste in men has changed over the years.
She continued: “I don’t like my knees. I fell over on them the other day. And I’ve got little legs.
“I don’t really have a type because I like personalities better. So I don’t really look at guys like Oh My God, ‘I’d love to be with him ‘ because you never know how they are going to be.
