Unlike the 1990s The Mummy trilogy that we all know and love (which were set from the 1920s onwards) , the reboot will be set in the present day.

The previous trilogy ran from 1999 to 2008 and was made up of: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, the film was loosely based on the original 1932 film of the same name.

Despite the Brendan Fraser films holding a dear place in our hearts, we wait with anticipation to see what Universal and director, Alex Kurzman have up their sleeves.

The modern day film focuses on a group of archaeologists taking an entombed mummy to London from Egypt.

Yesterday's trailer shows that on a flight back, the mummy awakens as Sofia Boutella's Queen Ahmanet.

As if the trailer wasn't enough to get our blood pumping, the behind-the-scenes footage sets this film up to be one of 2017's biggest.

The latest clip shows Tom Cruise and his co-stars in full action and gives an exciting insight into what we can expect from the sets.

Despite a killer cast and back-to-back action that is guaranteed to give us a few jumps (to say the least), it is the sets that have left our jaw on the ground.

From zero-gravity planes to Africa's deserts, this blockbuster is sure to be a treat for the eyes.

In the clip, Cruise explains that him and co-star Russell Crowe have known each other for twenty years and this is the first time they are working together.

Viewers get a first glimpse at a jam-packed fight scene between Cruise and Crowe and it doesn't look as though it's one to be missed.

Alex Kurzman, who has directed the film, has previously worked on the latest Star Trek series and The Amazing Spider Man.

With a history of sequels already under his belt, we can only hope that this isn't set to be a one-off.

Actress Sofia Boutella, who plays Queen Ahmanet, says of the director, "There is something about those first horror movies, Alex wants to give them proper honour."

And she is right, there seems to be something about horror movies of that time that, hopefully up until now, struggle to be recreated in the modern day.

Even if you're still in two minds on the casting of Tom Cruise (everyone was a bit, weren't they?), we just can't wait to see how everything pans out.

The Mummy will be out in UK cinemas June 9, 2017
