The Chase viewers in shock as The Beast punches the set and storms off after losing his game
Usually a clear winner on the show, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett didn't take losing to contestants well at all
THE Chase viewers were left in shock as Chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett flew into a fit of rage and punched the set wall this week.
The Beast was up on the stand to take on the latest contestants, and not used to losing, he let his emotions get the better of him.
Contestants Michael, Trish and Terry managed to win £60,000, beating the Chaser in the final round.
But despite keeping his cool in his chair, The Beast then stormed off before letting his anger out on the set.
Host Bradley Walsh attempted to play it down, as he told the audience: "That just shows you how they take it."
One fan tweeted shortly after: "The beast got hammered Thursday."
While another added: "Ah the Beast snapping he was smashed on #thechase."
And one wrote: "The Beast has gone pop. Unreal scenes."
Meanwhile one wrote: "Ooooft The Beast did not seem happy storming off then."
While other fans found the whole situation utterly hilarious, with some calling it their "favourite episode" of the show.
One commented gleefully: "Ahaaa the beast storming off and punching the set on #TheChase absolutely class TV."
Another agreed, tweeting: "Quality TV there, yer man The Beast didn't take that too well at all #TheChase."
A viewer remarked: "Beast is fuming 😂😂😂 #TheChase."
The Beast took on his role on the show in 2009, and proved such a hit, he's now starred as the sole chase on the US version.
He is also one of five Chasers on the Australian version.
He has also appeared in several television quiz shows and is a regular in quizzing competitions.
It comes just weeks after viewers went into meltdown when 'the Royal family' appeared on the show.
The contestant line-up included Charlie (short for Charles), Camilla, Will and Catherine.
Fans of the show were quick to point out those are the first names of various members of the British royals - Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The amusing line-up appeared to escape the notice of host Bradley Walsh, but The Chaser Paul Sinha - aka The Sinnerman - was quick to pick up on it.
He chuckled: "I'm playing against the Royal Family!", adding: "It means none of them will go higher."
This act of production team mastery was also noticed by viewers, who took to Twitter to praise the incredible 'coincidence'.
One tweeted: "Love that Charles, Camilla, Will & Kate were on today... The royal family are so down to earth."
Another wrote: "Am I the only one to notice it's effectively Will, Kate, Charles and Camilla? Royal Family of ".
Sadly Charlie and Catherine let their fellow 'royals' down, getting knocked out in their first battle with The Sinnerman.
Camilla did much better though, bagging £40,000 when she faced The Chaser - though Will came under fire for opting to take a minus offer of -£10,000.
They both went through to the final chase where they beat The Sinnerman and took home £15,000 each.
