Inside Liam Payne’s 30th birthday party at posh countryside hotel after he was rushed to hospital with kidney infection
HE was once the biggest party boy of One Direction.
But after an overnight stay in hospital following a serious kidney infection last week, I can reveal that Liam Payne’s 30th birthday was a very tame affair.
The Strip That Down singer spent Tuesday enjoying a clay pigeon shooting class with girlfriend Kate Cassidy at posh members’ club Honesberie in Warwickshire.
The plush venue is just a stone’s throw from his family home in Wolverhampton.
They ended the night with a spectacular firework display from his mansion back in the Home Counties with friends and family.
A source said: “Despite it being a landmark birthday, Liam hadn’t actually planned anything before being taken ill.
“He’s still very much recovering and is gutted he won’t be on the road in a few days time as planned.
Full recovery
“But his friends and family made sure the day was as special as possible.
“To be honest, now he’s been sober for over six months, Liam was never going to be partying into the early hours.”
Liam’s comeback single had been tipped to drop in September with an album not far behind.
But that has been put on ice until he’s made a full recovery.
While diaries are still being worked out, he is now expected to launch his comeback early next year.
WAP’S NEW, CARDI?
CARDI B’s top-secret comeback track is close – and I’m told it’s “WAP 2.0”.
As with the controversial 2020 collaboration, it will see the former stripper team up again with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Bosses are so determined to keep it under wraps that many in her label are still in the dark about the song.
But my source close to the rapper insists the single is out on September 8.
They said: “Everything has been on a need-to-know basis at the label but Cardi’s comeback track is another collaboration with Megan.
“Cardi and Megan have already shot the video and it makes WAP look tame.”
I’m excited to hear and see it.
FRANKIE AT THE DOUBLE
FRANKIE Bridge looked more like a member of girl group B*Witched in this double denim outfit.
The former Saturdays singer took it back to the Nineties with the retro skirt and corset top as she left London’s Apollo Theatre on Tuesday night.
She is treading the boards in 2:22 A Ghost Story alongside Jaime Winstone after taking over the role of Lauren from Sophia Bush, who was forced to cut short her stint.
Following her departure, it was that revealed One Tree Hill star Sophia had split from her husband Grant Hughes after just 13 months of marriage.
Frankie’s hubby, ex-England footballer Wayne, missed her debut performance in the play earlier this month to watch a Liam Gallagher gig.
Thankfully she saw the funny side though.
THE Rolling Stones lit up major landmarks around the world to unveil the latest version of their iconic lips and tongue logo for new album Hackney Diamonds.
London’s Wellington Arch and Tate Modern had the huge design put on them, as well as other locations including in New York, Brazil and Germany.
See hackneydiamonds.com for a closer look at the new design.
Kylie ups the Tension with new release
KYLIE MINOGUE has followed up her super successful single Padam Padam with a new track called Tension.
The single, out today, is the title track from her upcoming 16th album and sees Kylie at her most provocative.
The superstar previously revealed he penned the racy track during the height of summer at a writing camp in London.
Her long time producer BIFF has likened the song to a GIRLS ALOUD track.
Biff said: “It reminds me of something Girls Aloud would have done. It’s oblique and awkward, like two or three different song ideas in one that shouldn’t really work together but somehow does.”
Meanwhile, indie rockers THE KILLS have also announced new music.
God Games, their sixth record and first album in seven years, is out on October 27.
TAYLOR HIGH ON LOVE
HARRY Styles’ latest girlfriend Taylor Russell already sounds like one of the most insufferable new stars in the game.
The Bones And All actress, who started dating the singer earlier this year, is now on the cover of mag The Face – and her quotes sound, quite frankly, ridiculous.
Asked about her thoughts on drugs, she replied: “What’s my favourite drug? Does love count?
“Love, a lot of the time, feels like a drug, you feel so insane.
“But honestly, I didn’t experiment with drugs much when I was a teenager and in my twenties.
“I wanna be 60, 70, 80 doing ’shrooms and molly (ecstasy). Like, on an island doing ’shrooms and molly, naked.”
When quizzed about relationships, the Canadian said: “You are going to be hurt.
“The tax on a real relationship is the reality you’ll get hurt. It’s worth it.”
