Winners on the night included Casey Affleck and Natalie Portman for Manchester by the Sea and Jackie
ACTRESSES KATE BECKINSALE, AMY ADAMS and EMMA STONE wowed the crowds on the blue carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards bash in Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar in California.
Winners on the night included CASEY AFFLECK and NATALIE PORTMAN as Best Actor and Best Actress, for Manchester by the Sea and Jackie respectively.
Brit star JAMES CORDEN was unable to be there to collect his Best Talk Show gong for his amazing The Late Late Show, leaving his team to bask in the glory. He’ll get his big moment soon.
LAND OF GOLDEN GLORY
LA LA Land was the big winner at Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards, taking eight of ten gongs it was up for.
And now the RYAN GOSLING and EMMA STONE musical is set to sweep the board at the Golden Globes.
The flick has seven nominations, including Best Motion Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director – DAMIEN CHAZELLE.
It is the most nominated film at the ceremony since 2014’s Birdman.
The film, which tells the love story of a jazz pianist who falls for an out-of-work actress, is not even released here until next month but is bound to be one of the biggest UK flicks of 2017.
Following closely behind in the nominations is drama Moonlight, also due out next year, which is in the running for six awards including Best Motion Picture in the drama category and Best Screenplay.
And while the Brits mostly missed out in the film categories, it was a different story for the telly awards.
MATTHEW RHYS and CHARLOTTE RAMPLING each received nominations, while TOM HIDDLESTON, HUGH LAURIE and OLIVIA COLMAN are all up for their roles in The Night Manager, which is in the running for Best Mini-series or Television Film.
The ceremony, which will be hosted by JIMMY FALLON in Beverly Hills, takes place on January 8.
Let the battle commence.
