Lord Alan Sugar quips arch-enemy Piers Morgan gives him ‘morning sickness’ as they reignite their spat on Good Morning Britain
Yet the pair seemed to come to a truce as they chatted to ex Apprentice star Nick Hewer about his former role
LORD Alan Sugar battled early-morning jet lag to call the Good Morning Britain studio and reignite his feud with Piers Morgan as the host chatted to former Apprentice star Nick Hewer.
The ex newspaper man announced Lord Alan was on the line straight after touching down in the UK from Florida.
Kicking off the insults from the get-go, Lord Alan rung the ITV show and said: "I turned on the TV and saw Piers - it's enough to give me morning sickness.
"I saw my good friend Nick was coming on the programme and I saw how you stitched up Claude (Littner, who replaced Nick on The Apprentice) like a kipper."
Piers furiously denied being a part of the chat earlier this year, where Claude slammed Nick for pulling funny faces and doing little else during his time on the show.
He turned to businessman Nick and gave him the chance to show his true feelings about Lord Alan, who he called an "old growler" yet came unstuck when he branded his ex boss "one of the best."
After Lord Alan flagged he was the driving force behind Piers' The Apprentice US success, Piers said: "It pains me to say this but underneath the hideous exterior, the growling, unpleasant demeanour actually he's not a bad bloke."
The TV pair have been slamming each other for years, often using social media to trade insults.
Their fracas started after Piers' role in Comic Relief does The Apprentice in 2007 when he was swiftly fired by the businessman.
Clearly not one to let things lie, Piers has shown his bitterness about the decision ever since.
Meanwhile Nick told Piers and co-host Susanna Reid today he had received an apology from Claude about his comments during his most recent interview on the ITV programme.
Nick said on today's show: "He rang me to apologise.
"He said 'that young lady came in and I lost my way'."
Susanna then squealed: "It was all my fault!" before Piers quipped: "She does have that effect on older men."
