Emily Atack holds hands with a nuclear scientist after split from tree surgeon boyfriend
EMILY Atack is seen holding hands with a nuclear scientist following her split from her tree-surgeon boyfriend.
The Inbetweeners actress was photographed in London with Dr Alistair Garner.
Emily, 33, beamed as she walked through the capital with Alistair, who describes himself on his Linkedin as a Materials scientist and electron microscopist specialising in nuclear and aerospace applications.
The pair enjoyed a low-key afternoon together at Café Boheme before going home.
Emily, who wore a yellow dress for their day out, grinned as they walked along talking.
An onlooker said: “Emily was deep in conversation with Alistair.
“She had a cocktail and Alistair ordered a beer.
“Emily looked to be having a great time and couldn’t stop smiling.
“When they left they were holding hands.”
A source said Emily and Alistair are just friends.
Emily has been single since splitting with tree surgeon ex, Liam McGough, 38, last October after a seven month relationship.
They sparked rumours that they were back together in July after spending the evening together with friends but pals said they were just good friends.
Emily was previously linked to Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish, who was on-and-off with his childhood sweetheart Sasha Attwood.
The Sun revealed in 2021 how the pair had enjoyed a fling – including meeting at a hotel and Emily’s house.
They met after being introduced through his friends in the England football team.
After swapping direct messages on Instagram, they exchanged numbers.
They later met up at the Lowry hotel in Manchester, before one of Emily’s stand-up gigs, and then at her house in north London.
Pals later told The Sun how Emily was “hurt and humiliated” after Jack cut all contact and went public again with Sasha.
A source said at the time: “By all accounts, Emily is really hurt, and feeling incredibly bruised by the whole encounter.
“She’s kept a dignified silence about their fling but now Jack – who made out he was single – has gone running back to Sasha.
“One minute he was besotted, the next he was back with Sasha and acting as if Emily didn’t mean anything.”
Opening up about life as a single woman last month Emily said: “I’m not afraid to admit being on your own is actually miserable a lot of the time. It’s pretty hard.
“There are times when I go out and I feel confident and sexy on my own and I’m independent.
“But there are times when I cry myself to sleep because it’s lonely and awful, and it’s OK to admit that, I think.”
