John Legend slams Kanye West over his meeting with Donald Trump and brands it a ‘publicity stunt’
The singer said he was disappointed in his long-term friend’s support for the President-Elect
JOHN Legend has slammed his friend Kanye West over his meeting with Donald Trump.
The singer-songwriter said he was disappointed in the rapper and believes it was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Kanye met with the President-Elect at Trump Towers in New York on Tuesday for 15 minutes and revealed they spoke about bullying and violence and the city of Chicago.
The meeting also ended Kanye’s social media drought as he took to his Twitter page for the first time since October to post about their meeting.
But Legend said he was shocked and Kanye and in an interview with Clique.tv, he said he was disappointed with his longtime friend and collaborator.
He said: “I don't think it's impossible to talk to [Donald Trump] about issues, but I won't be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.
“I'm pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump.
“I think the things he's promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”
