Soulja Boy arrested after cops find gun in Hollywood home weeks before probation is due to end
Cops took Crank That star in after receiving an anonymous tip the rapper had a weapon stashed in his crib
ICONIC rapper Soulja Boy has reportedly been arrested at his Hollywood Hills home for breaking the terms of his probation.
Cops found a gun inside the Crank That star’s home after receiving an anonymous tip on Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The 26-year-old hip hop artist is alleged to have threatened people online with guns in a direct violation of his probation agreement.
The star, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way – was on a 24-month probation after being found with a loaded gun in 2014.
The sentence, which banned the Chicago native from possessing a gun, was due to end this month.
Fears for the Tell’em star’s wellbeing were raised in August, when he released a chilling video in which he threatened an unknown person with a gun pointed at the camera.
The clip depicted the singer saying: “Hey dude, f*** you and f*** Nia Riley. Stop playing with me 'fore some shooters be outside your house.”
He could then be heard saying, “kill you”, before warning the unknown person to “stop playing with me”.
Speaking at the time, the star’s on-off girlfriend Nia Riley told he was threatening an online troll in the clip.
Soulja Boy was also arrested in a separate case on a motorway in Georgia in October 2011 over felony drug and weapons charges.
He is best known for his song "Crank That", which started a dance craze upon its 2007 release.
He released his latest album, Better Late Than Never, in July this year.
