Saara Aalto defends Sharon Osbourne over X Factor drunk claims insisting she was just being funny
SAARA Aalto has defended her X Factor mentor Sharon Osbourne over claims she was drunk during live shows.
The Finnish singer - who came second to Matt Terry during the weekend's finale - has insisted Sharon's behaviour on the panel was just her showing her 'great sense of humour'.
She told : "No way was she drunk. Probably jet-lagged. She came from LA every week and I don't know how she did that! I would be exhausted.
"She was always so nice to me and when we spoke face-to-face she was very sharp and always knew my name I think it was also part of the entertainment and being funny and her great sense of humour."
For her part, Mrs O also hit back at claims she was drunk on The X Factor.
The legendary music manager - who is married to Ozzy Osbourne - furiously hit back at the claims insisting she would never drink on air with her family's history with alcoholism.
Mrs O had been accused by viewers of being drunk after forgetting her artist Saara Aalto's name and showing her cue card on the air while shushing Louis Walsh.
"I just don't get why somebody would say, 'You must be drunk because you're laughing and acting stupid and getting names wrong," she said ahead of the final to the .
" I just don't get what is wrong to be a bit of an air head and enjoy what you do and have a laugh. Next thing they will say I'm on heroin. Give us a break!"
Sharon also spoke movingly about her decision not to drink on air because of her son Jack's alcoholism revealing she doesn't want him to think badly of him.
Saara put rumours of a feud with Sharon to bed with her comments, as well as with a fun photoshoot ahead of last weekend's finale.
The pair puckered up for a kiss to put rumours of a rift between them to bed after Sharon failed to fly to Finland with Saara to meet with her fans.

Sharon had to fly to the US to meet her pre-existing commitments for her television show there.
A source revealed to The Sun: Sharon has commitments in the US with her TV show but you would think in this week of all weeks, she might pull rank and join Saara.
"She badly needs the support but clearly she's not exactly a high priority for her."
Instead of flying to Helsinki on Monday due to her filming commitments, X Factor bosss revealed she would instead join Saara at another event in London.
In the end, Saara managed to come second, which was exactly the place she wanted.
