The talent show's original comedy crooner tells Honey G to 'strike while the iron's hot'

X FACTOR novelty act Chico Slimani has made a stark warning to rapper of the moment Honey G telling her that if her debut single flops it will be “see you later”.

This year’s most talked about act Honey G, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, bagged a record deal before the final had even taken place prompting viewers to criticise the move as “unfair”.

Welsh-born Chico, who is currently appearing in Jack and the Beanstalk in Nottingham with the Chuckle Brothers, exclusively told The Sun: “As a novelty act, of which I was the original one, you never get an album deal. You get a single deal.

“If it does well then they’ll give you a second single but if not it’s ‘see you later’.”

“What she has to do is strike while the iron’s hot. Because come next year if she doesn’t make hay while the sun shines she’ll be forgotten.

“She is in to a category of rapping.  Rapping and hip hop is credible. Unfortunately she is not a credible rapper, but the novelty act side of it she could make work.”

It’s Chico Time charted at number one but his follow up D.I.S.C.O struggled to make the same waves reaching just number 24.

However he has gone on to have a strong career touring the UK and continues to appear in pantomimes more than a decade after featuring on the ITV show.

Chico even struck up an unlikely friendship with this year’s winner Matt Terry.

He added: “He’s definitely got the looks, he’s definitely got the talent and I’ve met him quite a few times. I think there’s potential, if they give him the right songs he’ll do very well.

“We did the Xtra Factor together and they brought him on with the other contestants who were going to be in the live shows.

“The X Factor house is round the corner from mine so I popped round with the kids to say hello.”

Well known novelty acts over the years have included Wagner, Jedward and lesser known duos Diva Fever and Two Shoes.

Meanwhile, Honey G kicked off her race to No1 this week when she invited Bizarre for a behind the scenes look at the video for debut single The Honey G Show .
