Stacey's struggling with Christmas activities after her postpartum psychosis storyline saw her convinced her son was the son of God last year

Viewers know that Stacey's illness caused her to think her then-newborn son Arthur was the son of God.

In this preview video Stacey finds herself about to turn around and leave the church, scared of what going in will do to her, but fortunately her husband Martin arrives to support her.

Then the pair walk into the church together to watch Lily make her debut performance.

While Stacey's set to have a quieter Christmas than last year, the same cannot be said for Phil Mitchell.

The BBC One soap has released a taste of what fans can expect on Christmas Day – and they should prepare for the most depressing episode in the history of the show.

In the clip the underlying theme is definitely Phil Mitchell ‘s “last Christmas”, and it’s not in the Wham sense.

But soon things take a dark turn - and naturally it's moments after one of the Walford residents declares that this year will be "the best Christmas ever".

Shortly after Sharon's summoning of doom, Roxy Mitchell is seen walking barefoot across the Square as her baby-daddy and soon to be brother-in-law looks the other way.

Phil then tries to get in to the festive spirit, announcing: "This is going to be my last Christmas... might as well make it one to remember."

Suddenly, right on cue, Billy announces that Phil has taken a turn for the worst.

The camera cuts to him dying in the armchair he previously rejected, his skin yellowing as his liver slowly fails inside his disease-ravaged body.

A voiceover has Phil telling Sharon that he loves her as the guys in the Vic raise a glass to '"absent friends".

But that isn't the most shocking moment in the thirty-seconds long clip - and nor is the sight of Kush Kazemi snogging Denise Fox, Phil's secret baby-mother .

At the end of the clip, Max Branning appears out of the darkness to greet Stacey - who looks like she has just seen a ghost.

EastEnders viewers are devastated at the thought of Phil no longer being in Walford.

The ageing hardman’s alcoholism has finally caught up with him and over the past few months fans have watched him wallow in self-pity and hatred as he waits for a new liver.

But it seems that viewers are worried that this really will be his last Christmas in Walford – and some have gone as far as to threaten to BOYCOTT the BBC soap if bosses kill him off.

During last night’s episode, Twitter was awash with anxious ‘Enders fans who are seriously concerned that the bald thug is about to meet his maker.

Like the ravens in the Tower, people seem to think that EastEnders without Phil simply won’t work – and have urged for producers to change the plot to save his life.

One tweeted: “Listen change your script! Don’t kill off Phil Mitchell!”
