Coronation Street fans get hot under the collar as they swoon over Mary’s hunky son Jude, played by Doctors star Matt Kennard

Doctors star Matt Kennard has appeared in the Corrie double bill and fans are very happy about it

CORONATION Street fans were impressed by Doctors star Matt Kennard as he popped up on Friday’s double bill of the soap.

The hunky actor was playing Jude – the man Mary Taylor believed to be her biological son.

As Mary and Norris Cole went to visit Jude, fans couldn’t believe their eyes when he opened the door to his home.

One tweeted: “Mary's son... Ding dong!”

Another commented: “Ooh rather liking Mary's ‘son’.”

A third simply wrote: “He’s so fit.”

Sadly it’s not likely Jude will be coming working on the soap full time as during the emotional scenes Jude revealed he had a twin, leaving Mary devastated.

Fans weren’t pleased either, with some begging producers to give him a full time part.

One tweeted: “ really enjoyed your performance on .

“Disappointed you’re not Mary's son. Would of been good to of had you…”

Matt previously starred as Archie Hallam in BBC soap Doctors.

The Grimsby born actor has also appeared on The Bill and Hollyoaks.

Earlier in the evening, he tweeted his followers to tell them he was going to be making an appearance on the cobbles.

He wrote: “Definitely on #coronationstreet tonight in both episodes. Someone who looks a bit like me pops up in the second one too. #corrie.”
