Scarlett Moffatt caught in bidding war as daytime giants This Morning and Loose Women battle it out to secure deal
She’s gone from the most popular women in the jungle to most sought-after in the country
SCARLETT Moffatt has sparked a war between daytime TV giants Loose Women and This Morning as they “battle” to sign her as a presenter.
The I’m A Celeb winner won the hearts of the nation while in the jungle and now ITV are desperate to make her a regular face – however, they only want her to commit to one show.
“It’s not often that daytime shows on the same channel battle to secure a presenter,” a source told The Daily Star.
“This Morning want her for their popular showbiz slots alongside Rylan Clark and last year’s I’m A Celeb runner-up Ferne McCann. They know Scarlett will be hilarious and a hit with viewers.
“Loose Women are desperate to bag an exclusive deal as they know their audiences will relate to Scarlett as she’s so down to earth.
“The show is going for a younger panel following the success of Katie Price and previous Loose Woman and reality star Vicky Pattison.”
And Scarlett will be quids in - as long as an exclusive deal can be secured.
The insider added: “Big money offers have been made by both shows. But the stumbling block is that Loose Women don’t want her to do This Morning as well.”
The Moffatt family have now been binned by Gogglebox who prefer their telly watchers to be regular people, but Scarlett has already got gigs lined up on Virtually Famous and Celebrity Juice, plus is rumoured to be presenting the revamped Blind Date.
The ITV source continued: “Scarlett is keen to do as many ITV shows as possible but it appears it may not be simple. It’s now left for her to decide.”
However while ITV may be flinging every show possible at Scarlett, there are also rumours that Channel 4 are trying to bag her to present The Great British Bake Off.
“Scarlett is now a serious contender – she opened a lot of eyes to her potential on I’m A Celebrity,” a source told The Mirror.
“She is young, very funny and just the type of presenter Channel 4 are looking for to front their version of the show.”
